I just saw that a few minutes ago.

That cat is a legend. I didn't realise cats were so protective of family.

I like cats anyway but I suspect there may be some burglars out there currently changing their opinions of cats and whether or not to enter houses which are known to have cats.

In fact, Joe posted it yesterday.

HaHa...I don't know if I would go that far.

I have owned a bunch of great cats and chasing dogs away is what some of them love to do! As long as the cat comes hard and fast at the dogs, and they don't show any fear, the dogs would almost always turn tail and run. The cat claws, speed and agility allow the cat to get some good swipes in ---> that is until the dog knows the cat and the cat shows a little fear. Then the dog will often times try to toy with the cats like a play toy - but that does not work so hot either as the dog can easily lose an eye or end up with a face full of blood.

Heck, even my son's full grown half pitbull & half chow would turn tail and run when the cats would attack him.

But I don't think very many cats would protect the family from people...but a dog coming into an area, that's a different story

One of my not so fur-rocious cats:

Of course some cats are great buddies with dogs but that's another story.

      Cheers!

I noticed that too. Now you've mentioned it I'm a bit surprised. At first I thought she was chasing the dog but the cat did that, unless the dog was coming back for more and she was going for it?

      Dam hard cat though.

I was thinking that cats are too selfish but this video changed my mind. I had no idea that cats can be so protective of family. Amazing

The video is removed and you can not see anything. Maybe you should look for the same video but one that works.

It did work when it was posted I recollect, if you missed it though, just Google 'cat attacks dog'. It was all over the first page when I just looked.

As a kid I had a friend who lived next to a very aggressive Doberman, but the dog was always in his back yard fenced in.
Until one day my friend was playing cars in his front yard and the dog kept hurling himself against the fence and the fence broke open.
The dog charged at my friend. My friend's cat was on the porch watching my friend. When the dog charged my friend his cat jumped on the dog's face like one of those face hugging aliens from the Alien movies, and just laid the smack down on the dog.
The dog turned and ran back to it's yard, cat still attached.
About 5 minutes later the cat comes sauntering out of the back yard and back to my friend.
The part I find hilarious about this is from then on that cat's favorite place to clean himself was in front of the dog's fence where the dog would see him and cower in a corner till he left.
