Just taking a break from packing for my Website's annual meet-up! 4 Days of rock hunting with members of my site from 5 states -- with Meteor Showers peaking about the time I drive in to camp.

Last time I met up with some of my site members I got hurt. Serious. Dean told a story so funny that we were literally falling out of chairs and rolling -- begging him to shut up. I pulled my diaphram muscles so bad I couldn't breath straight for a week.

Hopefully, I'll be in one piece when I get home this time.

Have a great weekend.

I suppose you have to wear flat shoes for that? :p

Have a great time - here's hoping you dig up something highly special and unusual!

And I got the most adorable pair of pink and grey faux suede Ryko waterproof sandals with cushioned soles that will feel and look great hiking :p Just because I'm kinda wild side doesn't mean I can't be a girly girl about it huh?

Terra - rocks on the plane? They might think I'm planning to bean someone and not let me fly! I just had to sort through about 10 boxes of stuff to sort trades for my members at the meet. We do a private mini show where people buy, trade, or just share. This allows people from far away to get your regional stuff and lets them see what you get in certain areas so they will know where they want to plan trips. I'll end up with about 5 mini-meets with members later this summer who will want me to take them where "this or that" is located.

Joe. Only you, Joe. Only you. Well, maybe Claude and Dan - but not many of you. Jeez o petes.

Thanks everyone - I take the "have fun" from everyone as an order and intend to follow those orders. .

Haha! I just got the image of you taking your carry on luggage full of rocks and blasting some idiot in the head with a two handed swing with it because he ticked you off! He probably tried to hit on you because of those pretty pink and gray shoes of yours and mistook you for a girly girl, LMAO!

Jeez Terra. I've never hit anyone in my life just for ticking me off. Give me credit for SOME restraint, huh? LOL. I'd never waste a good agate that frivolously anyway.

I'm actually more the pretty pink and grey shoes type of chick than people realize. It's because I was so much like YOU that I ended up needing all the self defense training. :p:rolleyes:

Frank - ho yeah. Love Stevie. Dated him a few times. He's a prick, but I sure love his music.

              LOL Sal!

I never meant to imply that you go around kicking arse because you're annoyed, lol! That was just the image that randomly popped into my head.

I'm sure that all that have read your posts about giving little spiders rides outside rather than flushing them and those that have read how you keep the cute little mice you find as pets realize this.

Ha! Yeah, being like ME does lead into having to know some self defense moves, hee, hee. :p I'm still loving my flying roundhouse kick.

When you get a chance, can you post a pic or two of your new found rocks? I just love those. Glad you had a good time, you deserved it!

It is a bit early here and I'm not as awake as usual but I thought that said "Got incredibly stoned", which would have been fun and fitting at the same time.

Glad you're back ok, uninjured except for the vehicle and happy.

Got to try the Goodrich T/A tires - especially if it looks like a sidewall blow out. lol

No sidewall problems (this time, lol). I knew the tires needed changing out but also knew where I'd be driving and wasn't going to pay for a new set just to blow them out.

One tire was vandalism. Some idiot threw all his trash in the road - tin cans and a whole slew of beer bottles. There was so much dust there (it's desert) that I didn't see the bottles until I heard the crunch. I am furious about that one. It's droolers like that who are getting all of our public lands shut down. If anyone in our crew would have seen him do it, he'd be sorry. Sometimes someone will shoot their tires out, so it's not only nasty, it's dangerous if someone sees you. Most people will take the plate number down and stop at the local cop shop where sometimes the fine will include public service of picking up trash - in the case that glass bottles are dropped in a roadway like that (it was one of the main dirt, not just a 4WD trail) it is ticketed as vandalism, not littering. Whoever dropped that crap knew full well they were going to cause at least one or two blowouts. Some people just shouldn't be allowed off the sidewalks.

Laughing can be a great abdominal exercise but be careful and do not injure yourself. Breathing is rather important!

I know nothing about rock hunting other than I find lots of them in my vegetable garden. Even after I remove all the rocks more will appear in their place later. I have long wondered how do rocks move around so much??? They are always stationary when I watch them and they obviously do not have legs - so how do they transport themselves? Seems like a mystery to me....
