Ha Ha what a stupid request email - I can't believe people actually fall for this! I regularly receive emails from a guy who informs me that if I help him launder some money I will receive half, being $100,000 - WOW Who could pass up that offer !!

Looks like a hell of a trip, although it's not quite clear back where the poor thing J. Powell is going to be once the bills are settled (should have stayed in California anyway).

Hi Art,

Have you considered that they might have sent it to the wrong person by mistake, and the person meant to be receiving it is expecting a reply like that, and that it's not a scam at all?

Listen up dude, it made me chuckle too :-)

But I had just read a thread about people posting stuff into the main forum are and having it deleted as it was off topic.

Anyway I now puzzled and scratching my head.

Perhaps in the OP is a hidden message about how to word one's emails to get some money.

OK, back to my autoresponder so that I can send out a nice begging email to my list telling them I was mugged whilst travelling across Europe because I was such a miserable bugger.

That ought to raise at least a few hundred thousand dollars, especially if I add a "Donate now before the deadline" button.

SCAM WARNING

Just like the message the OP received, I hate hoax emails and warnings, but this one is important!

Please send this warning to all your friends in your email address book: -

If smoeone comes to your front door saying he is conducting a survey and asks you to take off your clothes, don't do it.

It's a scam. He only wants to see you naked.

PS I wish I had got this yesterday. I feel so stupid and cheap now.

Ooops, I only just realised that. So I added a scam warning to my above post to show you I am not such a miserable b'tard.

Perhaps it wasn't in the off-topic when I saw it. I have never ventured in here before and it is kind of scarily exciting...

This was sent to my private "medical emergencies only" email address which is not published anywhere on the web so it must have been obtained by hacking someone's address book.

I considered that possibility. Is there no chance that your address is similar but slightly different to someone elses and they made a typo? Not that it matters. And if it is a scam email then yes it's pretty stupid

  Since I have changed the address now - art_pilosynus_rectal_adhesions@xxxxxxscreamforhelp xxxx.com the 'x's are to hide the domain name.
