Hi!

What is the proceedure for buying prescription drugs in the US? Being from the UK I have no Idea. For instance how would you by them from an online pharmacy.

Basically I have found a product I would like to promote which requires a prescription. I just want to know what the process entails to help me decide whether it would be worthwhile persuing.

thanking you all.

You need to see a doctor and get them to write you a prescription (on a piece of paper)... then you take that prescription to a pharmacy or drug store (chemist to you) and they fill it.

I've never tried to fill a prescription online... not sure if that's possible. You have to show the druggist the paper with the doctor's signature on it, so not sure how it would work online. But I haven't looked into it, so maybe there is a way.

Are we even talking about the same thing? Prescription drugs in the U.S. are by definition controlled, so I don't see how you can promote them online... maybe somebody else can shine some light on this if I'm totally off base.

In the US a physician must write a prescription. Some offshore pharmacies have tried to ship to US without prescription but USPS will not deliver. Also, there are some physicians who sell the prescription to online sites but state medical boards are taking away their license.

    Hi, thanks for your reply.

We are talking about the same thing. I was browsing the product on an online pharmacy which stated a prescription is required. I was just wondering how it worked.

Just did some quick research -- looks like drugstore.com lets you fill prescriptions online.
      Here's what their site says:

There are four ways to provide your prescription information:
      Mail us your prescription
      Have your doctor call us
      We'll call your doctor
      Transfer from another pharmacy

      A. Mail us your prescription:

      * When mailing your prescription into our pharmacy please be sure to include the e-mail address associated with your drugstore.com account, the patient's full name, and the date of birth.

      * Before submitting your prescription to us, you must create a drugstore.com account or your prescription will not be processed.

      * If you're using insurance please don't mail your prescription information until you've received an e-mail verifying that we accept your insurance.

The online pharmacy usually has you fax them the prescription. The prescription has to have the physician's DEA number and the pharmacy can look up the physician's information and contact the physician to verify the prescription.

Just contact MI6 and they in turn will contact the CIA here in the US. They in turn can get you all the drugs you want. Oh darn, I'm sorry, they only deal in cocaine, heroine and the like. My bad.

Yeah, we just get em from the illegals out here, too - they have a better variety than you get in TN.

Not really Sal, we're covered up with illegals here in my area. Check this out. There is a company called US Fence (owned by Canadians) that hires pretty much nothing but illegals. In fact I know some people that work there and they tell me that they feel out of place because the majority of employees are Mexicans who only speak Spanish. And yet our government does nothing.

Why are you posting your questions here? Why don't you contact the pharmacy you are considering dealing with directly and that way you would quickly learn exactly how you should proceed. Ysichh!
