A venture capital firm has appointed a computer algorithm to its board of directors.
The program - called Vital - will vote on whether to invest in a specific company or not.
The next big oil boom is underway and it's "data."

      I agree Rich. I can see how this may be a fit for some companies as it takes most, if not all of the emotions and distractions out of the decision making process.

      I expect to see more of this... and in stranger circumstances.

    I too think this is a very bright idea on several levels.

    Right! Algo's don't do emotions, politics/bribery/larceny, doughnuts, or golden parachutes -

    In fact I wish we could replace all the politicians with algorithms yesterday!
