So I had been talking about this year's annual meet up for my website members. That happened Memorial weekend. It was incredible. The group pic is just my site members - they all brought family or friends so there was a good crowd.

It was an awesome trip -- I blew two tires - there were 2 other tire casualties, too.

Anyhow - if you are curious about what we do, the scenery, or what we get, take a look at my trip report The RockHoundStation1

Mods - this isn't selling anything, I just can't post all the pics and story on here. It's just a trip report.

I take it that the first one is a behind-the-scenes pic?

I LOVED how that worked out. Bob was uphill taking a few shots and we had just gotten to a dig location and were getting ready to scatter and Bob yelled at us to act natural - so this is what we did. It worked out perfect for an opening line for the Gazette. LMAO.

Ken - it's an addiction. Seriously. Once you start finding good rock, it becomes an obsession very fast. It's outdoors living at it's finest, whether you like to be with company or alone. It's hard to find someone who's found something really spectacular that finds it a "take it or leave it" type of thing.

Tomorrow morning I'm taking off for another great weekend by a reservoir and out further into the juniper desert for the weekend. Just got new tires and an alignment that need some breaking in. This one is on my own, though. Quiet for two days and a hope for some meteors tomorrow night.

Looks like fun, Sal. The scenery was great, too. Is that you in the white top in the group photo?

Yeah it is. That's my MO. I wear white dress shirts in the field. They're very versatile and the white fends off sunshine. It's not as expensive as that would seem. I buy several at a time at a secondhand store for a few bucks each and have rock hunting clothes for half the season. Half - sooner or later they don't come white anymore.

Alexa - if you're reading..........sorry I didn't get a good pic of the shoes. You'd have loved them!

Find some good ones on your coming trip, Sal!

P.S. With all the rocks you collect, how do you ever have enough space to keep them?

It'd be easier to spot you if you got lost as well, wouldn't it?

Why do garden gnomes smell so bad?
So that blind people can hate them as well.

Lost? Me? LMAO. We'll never know.

My ex's never bothered to take me anywhere because they knew I'd find my way home.

Oh I'll have fun. Just had a site member blast me with a request to come out with them. So won't be going alone this time as I'd planned.

I don't keep all of them April - I sell quite a few, and once they're slabbed they don't take up as much space. That and the truck load in the storage shed. LOL.
