Well today promises to be a good day. Just about to watch New Zealand v England in the rugby, then after that England v Sri Lanka in the cricket 1st test and then later tonight England v Italy in the world cup.

It doesn't get much better than this. I just hope it ends well.

They very rarely do. Still, onwards and upwards.

Quite right but onwards we go.

Italy was a loss but I thought we played well. I was actually quite impressed with that England side, better than I've seen for a while. Italy looked excellent but they looked a lot more human than normal.

Losing by 1 point to New Zealand in the final minute is as good as winning the world cup. We won't win the series but playing the All Blacks in a 3 game series is like taking on Brazil for 3 games in football. The All Blacks are legendary.

Though not a massive cricket fan but more of a follower, we're giving the Sri Lankans a run for that too and they were in the last 2 world cup finals.

Sumit, it was a great day for sport if you're English. I certainly enjoyed it. Winning is nice but no point spending all that time watching something if you can't take something positive from losing very slightly to some of the best teams in the world. And we're not losing the cricket yet!

The rugby was a good game. New Zealand had a good spell in the 2nd half which basically put an end to our chances of winning, but it was great to get the try and conversion at the death.

I thought we were ok against Italy. Yes we passed, and kept hold of the ball well but I think Italy were happy for us to do so. I think we need to pass the ball around faster, especially when it comes to getting in the 18 yard box. The amount of poncing around we did at times was annoying, but maybe Italys defending just made it look that way. I just can't wait until Thursday now, that's going to be one nervy game.

Oh yes. I'm well and truly in world cup fever mode now. Roll on 8pm Thursday.

            Enjoy it Alistair.
