Hello,

I can finally afford to upgrade on Warrior but I don't know how. Where is the link to upgrade?

Thanks

Thank you Suzanne. Wow!!! That went up by a lot! I thought it was $39 dollars for the life time. What happened to that? It looks like now it is $97 per year.

It was $37/20 years when Allen owned the forum. Then freelancer made it $20/yr when they took over and then increased that to $97/year at some point. I just discovered the new price a couple of days ago. Pretty steep increase.

After the change of ownership, the new admin changed the pricing structure.

The $37 fee was change to $20 per year. Just recently, that $20 fee was increased to $97 per year.

ETA: Didn't see Suzanne's post above.

Bummer. It doesn't look as though I will ever be able to become a warrior. Perhaps, Freelancer can give the people who were members before they bought the website the opportunity to upgrade for $37 for 20 years.

They will certainly rake in some cash as now we know their prices.

IMO, I highly doubt that will happen.

Those who purchased the $37 membership were lucky enough to be grandfathered in - so no additional costs for another 20 years from the time of purchasing.

It will be interesting to see how many purchase at the $97 price point. Like yourself, many simply cannot afford it. Time will tell, I guess!

Yeah. Wish the news were better. Hate to see people locked out because of the price hike.

Perhaps it is possible that if the sign-ups don't materialize, the price might be lowered. All you can do is just watch and check on it. That could take a while, assuming it happens.

Changed the price structure? That's a pretty polite way of stating it let's see 37/20 = $1.85 per year. Now 97/1.85 = 52 so the price is now 52 times higher than it was before. I didn't know that Freelancer had added 52 times the value to the WSO and War Room sections or anything really.

The first, second or third(can't remember which) e-mail I received after the buy/partnership with the WF stated that members with paid membership to the WR would go from 20yrs to lifetime! Did I just dream that or did anyone else receive an email saying that?

    Have a Great Day!
    Michael

Edited(I found it. It was the second e-mail I received.) The first was from Allen him self.
    Here is the second e-mail,
This is Matt Barrie, Chief Executive of Freelancer.com.

I am pleased to announce that Warrior Forum has joined the Freelancer family.

We are excited and looking forward to working with you to better support the community.

Allen Says founded Warrior Forum in 1997 and I’ve personally watched the community grow to over 730,000 members, becoming the world’s largest Internet marketing forum.

If you haven’t visited the forum in a while make sure you check out all the improvements that have been made at www.warriorforum.com!

We will be allocating substantial resources to further grow the site. We will be dedicating engineers to build features and customer experience specialists to interact with the community in order to understand intimately what you like. They’ll be working closely with the moderators moving forward.

The most important thing, however, is that we listen to you- the community. We’ll be going through the suggestions section and would love to hear more about your ideas and feedback.

Also please feel free to email me at matt@freelancer.com with any suggestions, ideas, and thoughts or just to touch base and introduce yourself.

Effective immediately we are making a few permanent improvements to pricing:
    * All WSO listings will now be reduced from $40 to $20
    * All War Room members will have their 20 year membership extended to lifetime, immediately. Moving forward new memberships will be $20 per year.

Thank you for your support of Warrior Forum in the past and I look forward to working with you to take Warrior Forum to the next phase!

    Regards,
    Matt Barrie

Mine says 2099. I hope I can out live it...lol

Long before the merger, Allen also gave a few members lifetime Images in their Signature for being one of the first to be a Warrior Forum Sponsor when the sponsorship option was offered. I was also one of the first to join the sponsorship drive. I've not used this option in a while because I've had nothing to offer other Warriors. Although, now I look and it seems I have to pay yearly for something that I have lifetime usage rights for... I haven't tried to test it and see if I still have the lifetime image option yet or not. I hope the merger hasn't changed past deals.

Maybe a mod could check and let me know if that promise is still honored by the forum?

        Thanks,
        Everyone have a Great Day/Night!

I contacted Matt regarding this. Here is the reply:

          Hi Jody,

I've been sent the email that you sent to Matt in regards to your War Room membership.
I have taken a look at your account and you do have lifetime access to the War Room.

Everyone's account still shows the same thing, which is 20 years from when they have upgraded however we have made sure that this if lifetime access for all those members.

          Thank you

            Hi Jody,

That's not 100% accurate as I put in a support ticket and Thomas extended mine from 2032 to 2099.

            Hello Don,

            I just extended your membership.

Let me know if you have further questions!

$97 a year? wtf? Is freelancer ONLY in it for the money. I thought changing it to $20 a year was ok but at $97 they will lose a lot of people and, in the long run, will lose money.

Oddly enough, I was one of the first war room members, if I recall correctly, and my CP doesn't show a war room subscription at all. Just a button to get me to become a war room member.

      Dan,

Look above that button and you should see the dates.

I know mine still shows the button to click on to purchase. I imagine it's the same for everyone?

          Don,

I didn't ask anyone to change my date (2030), but today (when checking for Riffle) my date was changed to 2099.

I don't know if it's a quick fix just to change everyones date to 2099. Alaister said in the email that we have a lifetime membership.

Admin knows who signed up and when, so even if my date wasn't changed, I wasn't going to worry about it. Thomas is busy enough without being bombarded with support tickets to change everyones expiry date.

Yeah, Alaister also said War Room subscriptions were going to be $20 a year for new members. How long did that last? 30 days or so until it was increased to $97? Good grief.... I think paying for my initial War Room subscription and paying $200-$300 in bump fees in May and June should allow me a single support request.

Better safe than sorry...even though sorry would have been 18 years out.

I was one of the first War Room members too and I don't have anything showing my details and only a subscribe button.

I'm guessing it's because we didn't pay to be members. When Allen first started the War Room, he added some long-time contributors to get things rolling, so I never actually paid to become a member. Did you actually pay to become a member or did Allen add you?

      That Jody's special?

But not in the same way Claude is "special". With Claude, we have to put "special" in quotes...as in being the World's First Crack Baby "special" or Claude being the first child left behind "special".
