He didn't hide in the months after the September 11, 2012, assault on a U.S. diplomatic compound, instead giving media interviews in public, including one with CNN's Arwa Damon.
"No problem," he replied in 2013 when Damon asked if he would be willing to meet with U.S. investigators presumably searching for him.
"But not as an interrogation," he added, suggesting instead "a conversation, like the one we are having with you now."

Maybe they will try him in a court with an illegal judge so the judge can be declared illegal, "jeopardy attached", and hewillbe "FREE TO GO!"!!! HEY, it happened LAST week, why not THIS week?

Should be tried by the military - but that wouldn't get much press - so he's in our courts with our protections and lawyers we pay for....

I think the slow boat back was for show by the military who could have picked up this guy months ago. If reporters could find and interview him - he wasn't hiding very much.

I haven't studied the issue enough to understand all the ramifications of either way of trying this guy but...

"I don't know where the claim comes that we are less safe…In eight years the military commissions have put three people on trial.

Two of them served relatively short sentences and are free.

One guy is in jail. Meanwhile, the federal courts, our Article III, regular legal court system, has put dozens of terrorists in jail and they're fully capable of doing it.

So the suggestion that somehow a military commission is the way to go isn't…borne out by the history of the military commissions…The nation is still at risk…

But to suggest that somehow we have become much less safer because of the actions of the administration, I don't think are borne out by the facts."

Personally I'm glad the FBI is handling the investigation.
A couple years ago they busted two guys from around here who where building a micro wave weapon. This was around the time everybody was going off on warrantless wire taps.
Instead of going that route they got a warrant to tap the suspects cell phones. They are about the only govt. agency that isn't having a scandal going on.

The middle east has been fighting since I was in diapers and before - we were over there and expected to never get into it?

I'll start getting excited when we arrest the people at the top here who facilitated the attack in the first place.

Of course he has - that drags it out as long as possible. In our court system that could be for years and why I think he should have been tried by the military.

Lets see arrested just before the mid-term elections (even though he's been giving interviews since 2012).
My guess is the trial will start just before the presidential elections.

Yeah, I don't think the military war trials recognize miranda, 5th, claims of guilty/not guilty, bail, ROR, etc....

HECK, I can think of a way that is relatively simple and, by landing in the US, he could probably start a spread of a disease like, say, polio! IMAGINE if a couple dozen people caught polio tomorrow and maybe half of them started spreading it the next day! How resistant are people today to polio in the US? It SEEMS harmless, but can cause severe paralysis to DEATH.

So YEAH, there are a LOT of reasons to never bring them to the mainland.

Maybe if one of them didn't try to set the worst of the crips and bloods(and similar groups) free all the time, we could all get along!

As for fresh air? NOPE! Some in DC should have!

So HOW do you start out AGREEING with me, and end up trying to insult me? Or did you just not see who hated me, and why?

Basically, I dislike the idea of having one so arrogant that he basically declares himself god and states he has a pen to undo things, and a phone to command people to harass others. He has done that for his entire "carreer"!!!!! I was HAPPY at the 9 to ZERO ruling that his appointments were ILLEGAL, but it sets in motion a BIG string of potential problems. We have judges that were not legally appointed. And YEAH, I AM aware that only 4 out of 9 could speak english. The other 5 declared that the word THE meant "A ..... of substantial time ". But that can be argued later. They at least agreed that THIS "A" was NOT "of a substantial time". HECK, it wasn't a recess according to congress ANYWAY, and it is clear that THAT is what the constitution meant.

I never said I agreed with you dude, we just share the same view. Also I never insulted you, I said you needed fresh air, because your angry post. There are alot of things I don't like about our government, but at the end of the day I am not going to lose sleep over it. I don't get upset over things I cannot control.

Spending everyday spreading anti-govenrment rants, do not pay my bills, nor does the government put food in my kids mouth. Yeah I do feel the government screws us over, but we always have the option to move to another country.

No it's called freedom, freedom to come and goes as we please. This country is on the decline, and it's because of nuts trying to divide the country. Instead of complaining all the time, people need to start getting involved.

I live in Republican country, and our choices for congress are a conservative incumbent or Koch Brothers funded, far right wing nuts who campaigns on hate. When it comes election time, I get out and start knocking on doors instead of complaining about it on the internet.

Exactly it's about freedom which you don't seem to understand when you tell people who disagree with you to move to another country.
You live in a republic not republican country.
Let me guess when you go knocking on doors you're talking up a Soros funded far left wingnut.
You have no idea what many of us do off the internet.
You're doing just as much complaining here as anyone ya know. Look at the crap liberals spew about anyone who disagree with them, yet you single out the far right for campaigning on hate? Both sides do it and those of us who don't subscribe to what either party are doing are the ones who suffer the brunt of it.

Actually it's none of your business, but I was campaigning for a conservative republican. You know what they say when you assume right?

I am an independent voter who has never voted for a Democrat, but that does not mean I would not vote for one, if the right one came along. Just because I share the same views as some, does not mean I have to pick sides. I have no gang affiliation, and when I feel something is wrong, I hit the campaign trail instead of complaining on the internet.

I form my own opinions and base my decisions on that, I don't need the media to feed me bullcrap in order to dictate my vote

Then maybe you shouldn't of brought it up on a public forum.
The rest I agree with, though you do seem to be doing a lot of complaining on the internet for someone who says they don't.

You have no idea what many of us do off the internet.
It's the reason politics and religions are not allowed here (though we sneak around the edges a bit when we can).

It seems no one on either side of issues is content with saying "I think" or "I believe" or "here is why I agree with this side of the issue".

Instead, it's "you are wrong", "that's why you are wrong", blah, blah.

There are too many assumptions when we get into this sort of thread. And you really don't know what others think - how they live - or what they do....off the internet.

Several of us are in agreement about the trial of this dude but you go on with "You need to get some fresh air dude" and "judges want to be god" and then it goes off the rails. The judges didn't make this decision - the administration did. And Steven is being Steve but was agreeing with you basically.
