Hey guys,

I am trying to find out what the biggest problem people are getting when starting Internet Marketing.

Is it deciding where to start?
How to build a website?
Getting Traffic?

My biggest problem when starting internet marketing was not focusing on one project but jumping from one to another. Losing a lot of time doing unnecessary things.

What are your biggest challenges and problems?

Building free traffic sources probably the most important and hardest thing to do in IM.

    It is being constant.
But it is, I believe the biggest fear, not the biggest challange.

Getting traffic is probably the #1 hardest thing to do. In fact, building a great looking site isn't anywhere near as important -- look at Craigslist.

Traffic. If you can master one source of traffic, you can do anything you want. Offers are nice. Niches are nice. Traffic is needed to make money. Free traffic is temperamental. Paid traffic is scalable. Once you get the traffic part right, making money is very easy in my opinion.

I would have to agree with folks above. Traffic is definitely #1 challenge. Once you get some traffic, the trick is how do you keep that coming. There are many sites that are not the best sites but they become sticky sites for users and the reason is it either provides a free service or solves a problem that users are facing.

Getting and keeping traffic has been the hardest thing about IM for me. More traffic equals more money in most cases, so traffic is something I'm still working on getting more of.

My most frustrating activity getting started was figuring out what I did not know and what I needed to know. If you don't know what you don't know, how can you learn it?

So I guess a lot of people are voting for traffic.

I think it is the fear of not getting traffic for a lot of bloggers that make them stop doing what they are doing.

It seems traffic is the big winner so far, but for me converting was the number one issue.

I discovered if you can improve your conversion skills, methods and techniques ... you didn't need as much traffic. A "aha moment" for me that very few people or even Gurus talked about that much. Just like in this thread ... until now.

Do you mean conversion rates for landing pages? or overall conversion rate of your traffic?

My biggest frustration after 6 years, is, not being able to fling my Laptop through the window!

But these days there are less flinging daydreams!

My biggest challenge so far, is to stop posting here and on other forums, and get some boring research and product out the way that could seriously turn my life around.

Then go back to something more fun!

Knowing how to convert traffic is a big frustration. Anyone can pay to get traffic, but getting that traffic to do something that you wan't is the tough part. Also, just starting out in general is pretty tough as someone above posted. Not having any skills and learning everything that you need can get overwhelming.

Agree with this. I'm knowledgeable in growing traffic but I'm right now struggling figuring out how to make most money out of it.

I have 1 year old site that I manage to grow traffic to 9k daily visitors to date. But it's not converting well with adsense since majority are mobile traffic. I'm still trying to explore options aside from adsense. I might setup my own ad server and start marketing it to people who wants to buy traffic from me directly.

Also, I'm trying to see what my visitors are willing to pay since I know a lot of them find my site useful.

  • Traffic is really the biggest challenge starting out. The learning curve is pretty steep, even when you buy traffic for your site.

Getting traffic is definitely the biggest challenge. If you can figure that part out, the rest is really easy. I miss the good old days when it was easy to rank a website, before all of this penguin and panda business lol
