Have you ever experienced this crazy scary phenomenon? My first experience was on 2003 and I thought I almost died after some kind of alien with a big hat choking me to death. It was 5:30 AM and I just went off from a night shift job. I was tired and when I arrived at home, I didn't even drink a glass of water and laid down directly. After few seconds, there you go. An alien choking me and it took a while before I recovered....by moving my right thumb.

The same experienced happened few years later but now not anymore as I already found out how to prevent it from happening.

Anyone experience a sleep paralyses and how you handle it?

I have experienced it once, maybe 10 years ago, and it was an awful experience. I woke up alone and could not move. I seriously thought I was paralyzed. I couldn't breathe. I had no idea what was going on; perhaps I had been zapped by an alien or a demon.

It seemed to be forever but must have been only for a few seconds. Then I fully woke up and had control of my body back. Fortunately it hasn't happened again. I won't forget that feeling of being trapped in my body.

I don't think there is anything you can do handle it. At the time I didn't know what sleep paralysis was, but even now if it happened again I'm pretty sure I would be stuck in the experience and not recognize what the event was until some time after it was over. There's this article

with the somewhat amusing "symptom" of an evil person in the room with you. Hey, at least it has pictures!

If this is an ongoing thing for you, you have my sympathy.

Those pictures on wkihow are funny. Anyway, there is no cure for this but you can always prevent it from happening. Wikhow suggested some but that's not everything. In my experience, the most effective way to prevent t is to elevate your head by adding more pillows. It works for me 100% even if I sleep late.

Many people don't know that they are already experiencing sleep paralysis because the term might not familiar to them. And of course it is extremely scary at first.

One of my friends used to always have this one. It's quite terrifying according to her description, seeing things and not being able to move and just the feeling that you will never wake up anymore. I tried to find some things to do before sleeping that might be able to reduce the chances of having these night terrors and not much really. Just drink water, avoid getting too tired, scents that calm you, soft music, etc.
