I've been working with some overseas people who can write an article for $5 each, but the grammar isn't very good.
Is it possible to find article writers at that price who do good work?
thanks

Depends on the length of the article and the desperation of the writer. I charge a minimum of $15 for 500 words, and believe me, that's fair. I can whip out some articles in 20 minutes, others take 4 hours. Time spent depends on how familiar I am with the subject, how much research is required, and whether links within the text are necessary.

When you hire a professional, you get impeccable grammar and spelling, knowledge of SEO, and no plagiarism or rewriting of existing articles. In other words, you get what you pay for.

I write 400 word articles for $10-15 based on the topic (I'll write about anything but prefer technical topics), and I am a certified English teacher turned professional copywriter. I have written consistently for GetContent.com and references are available if necessary. I can offer fast turn around time, and I am available on the phone if needed.

Depends on the length and difficulty of the article. You can find American writers who write cheap and with good grammar and articles. But cheap native English writers are more difficult to find than overseas writers whose first language isn't English. They are out there though you just have to look in the right places.

Articlez.com does great work for $2, $4, or $6 depending on post length. All their writers are based in the U.S.

I have a staff of inhouse professional writers, specializing in niche markets and copywriting. You get fully researched, original articles of up to 800 words optimized for search engines for $20 each. Not cheap, but very, very good.

            We live in strange times.

We do not value the time and effort put forth by others, who do things we prefer not to do ourselves.

People who take care of the elderly and disabled are some of the lowest paid workers in the U.S.

Not that writing articles, is comparable to taking care of people, but the main forum has had several threads on it lately from people looking to pay the very least they can, for the ingredient they are missing to make their business a success.

They either cannot or will not do the work themselves, yet expect someone to do this very same work, at high quality level, for substandard wages.

            Amazing!

Do what I do. I am a professional writer -- I have an Ethnolinguistic background and can teach English teachers new tricks - but my technical skills are shockingly inept.
So I JV with people who can take the technical ends off my hands and aid in some marketing while I do the writing, gifs, and PR. Split the returns according to the work each does. It doesn't cost you up front and when the other partner has a stake in the
amount the project brings in - you get work as close to perfection as you could humanly expect.

If you need cheap - a pro isn't going to look at it. Be prepared to do the editing that will be required. I had a friend I did a $50 package of 5 for - and all of the research was handed to me. By the time I organized, edited, etc. I was almost not worth my time. Almost anyone can string words together and be coherent. To use them correctly in a manner that will project exact semantic import takes a bit of fandangling, and many writers can't even tell where they are lacking referents if you tell them one is missing.

Ya get what you pay for.

It's definitely possible, but it's not going to be "hands off" for you when you find them. I've worked with numerous pro (high cost) and amateur (low cost) writers over the years, and I've found that the low cost writers are usually low cost for one of the following reasons:

Unable to write in English - you'll have to edit
Poor researchers - you'll have to edit
New and don't know how much they're worth - you'll eventually lose them to a higher paying customer
Plagiarize most of the content - you don't want this

In short, it's work to stay on top of these $1 - $5 article folks.

If the niche is important to you, write it yourself or pay someone what they're worth. You'll be much better in the long run.

Maybe these customers go to digital point or rentacoder and see people trying to sell $2 articles and think this is the going rate.
