I think he's a tragedy really. Another child star who lived a screwed up life, gaining fame and fortune, but never able to find happiness. Building up all sorts of psychological coping mechanisms that turned into clinical issues - but because of his status and money, was never able to be diagnosed and treated. I see it for what it really is - and his fame and money don't change a damn thing. None of that matters now does it.

But neither do you despite your initial comments on this thread. I have looked at the two accusers, considered their possible motives and their backgrounds (in particular, the second accuser), then also considered the court ruling and because of those things, I do not believe that he did it. The point that I was driving at is that you have convicted him in your mind and on this thread, but you have no basis except accusations and probably because he is an abnormal person.

You may not be "star struck" but you seem to have swallowed what the news and "questionable" accusers have said lock, stock and barrel. As for me, I am of 2 schools of thought on his passing. - IF he was indeed a child molester, he won't be doing it any more, and he will have to atone to his maker. - The fact that he is only 5 years older than I am means that I have basically watched and followed his career since a very young age. The music he put out as part of the J5 has particular meaning in my life. During the early 80's and Thriller, I was in the service and his music was just everywhere. You could not go a day without hearing something by him. That also has some meaning to me. Like him or not you can't deny his impact on pop music and music in general, nor the amount of good he's done via charities over the years. Just my thoughts. Mike

Good riddance.
Anyone with children should be rejoicing today. IF he was a child molester? WTF? Are you people high? IF? Did I REALLY just read 'IF'? Anyone who wants to stick their head in the sand and ask for a big group hug over this child molesters death is a damn moron...stay away from my kids. I can't believe people would even THINK about giving this guy an ounce of respect...even in the event of his death. Thats just damn sick. Just sick. Anyone who has sympathy for this loser and also has children should be put away forever. Gee...I just died...so please forgive that fact that I stuck my wee-wee in little boys behinds. Its all ok, because I was a celebrity and now I'm dead so I deserve respect. Yah, that makes sense. Pass the f'n kool-aid please. |

Even though I really was derogatory, I do pity a person whose life was so filled with dysfunction and personal tragedy. He certainly did make his mark on pop music (and culture) - but paid a terrible price for it all along in the form of untreated mental issues (leaving out the kiddie sex stuff entirely). I agree, whatever he's done, he must answer for now.

All of us have done things we aren't proud of but only a few of us becomes a legend, an icon, and an inspiration to others.
A life well-lived IMO. RIP Micheal Jackson. |

Whatever your view is on him - He's dead now. To speak evil of a man without evidence after he's dead says more about you than about him. His music and dancing skills were incredible, and there's no denying that.

I was at someones house and saw the news live. They said Michael Jackson died of a heart attack, but it couldn't be confirmed.
Off topic, but just cause someone was found not guilty of a crime doesn't mean they are innocent. That's why people are found "not guilty" instead of "innocent". Guilty people get off all the time, especially celebrities. Obviously I don't know if he did or didn't. He admitted to sleeping in the bed with kids but said it was innocent. And I'm not a celebrity obsessor anyway. Surprising, yes. But I can't say I'm grieving. I reserve that for people I know in real life and have a real connection with. Otherwise I'd be sad all day, every day. |

Playing devils advocate here, and going off topic again, but I can understand why someone would be angry if they believed the person was a child molester and rightfully so. Anyone should be angry at child molesters. I think child molesters are the worst of the worst of the worst and are wastes of flesh and carbon footprints. And since they can't be rehabilitated I'd put them all to death as soon as they were caught if I were in charge and not release them out in the public to prey on more innocent kids.
I don't believe he was one and I don't believe he wasn't, I've never met the man, he never confessed, there was never solid proof. He was a admittedly a very child like man saying in interviews he was trying to recapture the childhood he didn't have. Plus the family that brought charges against him, the mother was a big fraud and proven liar and it could have been extortion. And if someone molester your kid would you let them pay you off? No, you'd want to see them in jail the rest of their life so they can't do it again. So I would never say he was a child molester, not my place to judge what I don't know, but people keep saying he was found not guilty. So freakin what? He may be innocent but being found not guilty isn't the reason why. That means nothing. It just means a jury of 12 believed there wasn't enough evidence to convict. OJ Simpson was also found not guilty and everyone knows he did it. Innocent people have been found guilty and guilty people have been found not guilty. Speech over. You all can go on topic again and grieve for MJ. ![]() *typos but I'm tired and sleep deprived and not gonna fix em |

I loved him for his Dance and for his Singing. You simply can't imagine the impact he had in my country. He is a music legend. He is probably the only non-Indian that everyone in my country knows about. Purely for his Dance and Singing!
That's the music part of it. His personal life?? Well, I have nothing to comment about it.

With alot of REAL big news issues going on, they all ended up getting swept under the rug now that the MSM has been SWAMPING their coverage with Michael Jackson.
No - I don't find it the least bit funny either over how the bankers and the NWO are getting away with their crimes by using this opportunity...it's sickening, actually.

It's indeed a sad day... controversy indeed surrounded Michael
throughout the days in his life. But whose really to blame for his life? Him? The media? His parents? But as stated, it's over now and he does not have to give an account of his life to any living person anymore. Rest in peace, Michael. I don't care whatever people say, the music he brought to this world will always be remembered. Death of Michael Jackson | Asher Aw Asher |

Geez, the guy is dead, go get a soda or a icecream... Not defend him, but this is not the time to throw rocks at him.
A piece of advice for those who keep talking about molesting kids: next time you hear a story about a child molester, trace him down and do your thing. if you're so angry about it, do your thing with the living ones. Just my 2 cents. Fernando P.S. - Im 37 and played so many of his records in radio, pretty neat stuff, him and the producer Quincy Jones. |

Stop it with the molested sht already...how do you know he was guilty? do you have some special powers or something that the rest of us don;t know about?
Just because the man went to court for something it doesn't mean that he did it, he was found innocent and thats that...maybe he did it maybe he didn't, you don;t know for sure...your only thinking what the media put in your head. Most you that say that probably seen 1 or 2 videos or read 2-3 articles about it and now your yelling "he's guilty", im just sick of you people that even when a man dies you can only look at the bad things of the story. |

Trader54, stop trying to ruin their desperate emotional need for hero worship with pesky things like rational thought processes.
And not every news outlet is reporting flowers and rainbows either... From yahoo news: ". . .But Jackson's reputation as a singer and dancer was overshadowed in recent years by his increasingly abnormal appearance, and bizarre lifestyle, which included his friendship with a chimp and a preference for the company of children." Is that what they are calling these days? Preference for the company of children? Good thing I don't look to the media as my moral compass. http://new.music.yahoo.com/michael-j...eath--61720652 |

Hex Marks the Spot
Jacko put voodoo curse on Spielberg, Geffen. He reportedly paid an African witch doctor to conduct a blood ritual that would leave 25 enemies dead By Gary Susman ![]() Gary Susman Just when you thought there was nothing left to learn about Michael Jackson, there comes a magazine article that unearths a nugget that Martin Bashir somehow missed in eight months of filming the King of Pop for his TV documentary. According to an article in the new issue of Vanity Fair, Jackson hired a West African shaman three years ago to put a voodoo curse on Steven Spielberg, David Geffen, and 23 other enemies that was supposed to kill them within a week. The Malian witch doctor, named Baba, reportedly slaughtered 42 cows and had Jackson bathe in sheep's blood to seal the hex. Jackson paid Baba $150,000 for his services, which apparently should have come with a money-back guarantee. For his part, Spielberg says he doesn't know what Jackson has against him; the director and the singer have rarely met. ''This is bizarre, but what else is new?,'' a Spielberg spokesman told the New York Daily News. The Vanity Fair article also corroborates earlier reports of other Jackson oddities. For instance, it reports that the tip of Jackson's nose really is a prosthesis; without it, says one person who's seen the fake schnozz, he would look like ''a mummy with two nostril holes.'' Also, as revealed in earlier reports, the court papers from onetime business manager Myung Ho Lee's current breach-of-contract suit indicate that Jackson spends lavishly, beyond his means, and owes hundreds of millions of dollars in debt, mostly to his label, Sony, which may foreclose on Jackson's share of the Beatles' song rights (half-owned by Sony) in order to collect. And a member of the Los Angeles district attorney's office tells Vanity Fair that Jackson paid for the silence of not one but at least 10 pre-pubescent boys, whom Jackson would replace annually, ŕ la Menudo, ''as soon as they started sprouting whiskers.'' Contacted by the Daily News, Jackson's camp declined to comment on the story. Jacko put voodoo curse on Spielberg, Geffen | Michael Jackson | In the News | News | Entertainment Weekly

I was never much of a Michael Jackson fan, but after I saw some of his videos yesterday, after not seeing them for 20 years, I found the songs running through my head all day.
Agreed, strange guy, basically out of touch with reality for the last third of his life. |

Funny how not one person that is CERTAIN MJ was a child molester wants to discuss the accusers or their backgrounds or how these cases turned out. Why is that? Maybe because once you look at the merits of each case you realize that maybe, just maybe he was innocent? Uh oh, that would blow your whole perception of him wouldn't it? Want to know what the first accuser's father said in a tape recorded message? Here it is: "If I go through with this, I win big-time. There's no way I lose. I will get everything I want and they will be destroyed forever...Michael's career will be over" By the way, the first accuser's Mother claimed that MJ was NOT a pedophile. It was the Dad pushing the issue and he was perfectly fine letting MJ go "free" as long as he got his pay off. As mentioned earlier, if MJ was guilty, this means Dad allowed MJ to harm more kids by not seeing to it he went to jail...pretty sleazy if you ask me. In the second case, the boy that accused MJ admitted to a school official that nothing actually happened between him and MJ. His brother, who was the only witness in this case, admitted that he lied under oath in a case where his Mother sued JC Penney and won $152,000. His Mother was also found to have committed welfare fraud. If this isn't enough to cast doubt, then answer this: why would she allow her children to stay with MJ after he was already accused once before of child molestation? Does the term "gold digger" come to your mind like it does mine? Yeah, he was a weird dude. I'm sure you would be too if your childhood was spent working instead of being a child. Or are you super human and have the ability to overcome everything? Him being weird makes you dislike him which then turns into anything negative about him; you want to believe it whether its true or not. That makes you narrow-minded. Your passion for disliking someone gets in the way of reality. Michael Motley just proved this with his comment regarding the number of times MJ was accused. He wants so bad for MJ to be a bad person that he is willing to make up his own set of facts to prove his point. I hate real sexual molesters as much as the next guy. I think anyone that REALLY commits this crime should be tortured until they decide to commit suicide (and I mean REAL torture...not this pansy-ass waterboarding crap). But I also despise people that commit fraud against rich people just to get that payoff. So, if you are so convinced that MJ committed these crimes, are you also saying that there is absolutely no question in your mind that the accusers are telling the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth? Really!? Based on what?

The first case (the one he did pay for...he did NOT pay any money to the second accuser...you got to stop that merry-go-round sometime) was in 1993...that's 16 years ago, not just before he died. 16 years ago he was still very wealthy. He died over $100 million in debt...so, at the time of his death, he was beyond the "brink of broke." As I mentioned earlier, you continue to make up the facts to fit your story. And speaking of facts, what about the facts of the accusers? You just refuse to address those don't you? I think narrow-minded was the term I used earlier.

In an interview, MJ was asked what he was worth and replied he didn't know. The interviewer said a billion and said probably more. The interviewer later said it was far less. MJ had no concept of money. And if I was accused of something, I'd pay it off too. (With a few exceptions.) The longer it goes on and as it gets more and more attention - it hurts your life and career more than fighting it and being found "not guilty" because in the publics eye you are just another rich man who got off. Look at this thread for proof of that. People condemed him based on the freaky crap he does and not on all the facts. -G

I pointed out which facts you got wrong, how about you return the favor? My worship is not with MJ, but I do have a fondness for justice. That seems to be foreign to you. Convict the man because just you don't like him...that's enough for you , huh?
