A NEW plea for email

First, a few corrections. The computer shown is 1978-1980(I believe those floppies were created in 1978, though the computer is 1975 or 1978). In 1986, the IBM computer existed with windows, and the macintosh existed. The WWW wasn't here, but the internet and email WERE! They just weren't open to most.

      The internet is an INTERNATIONAL NETWORK! It is something almost NOBODY here would ever go on, and most would IGNORE, call a fad, etc.... One function it had/has is email.

      The WWW is a nickname given to a set of protocols that sites, like THIS one use that runs ON the internet! MOST really mean the WWW when they talk about the internet.

      THIS is why many INTERNET URLS started with www! It made it clear that the INTERNET URL was for a WWW site.
