OFF TOPIC

I really need some luck to calm down from the excitement

Playing my first gig in ages tonight.
Well really just one set.
The drummer is out sick in my friends band so myself and another drummer are sitting in for him tonight.
The other drummer will be doing then newer stuff they do and I'll be doing the older stuff.
Here's my set list for tonight (in no particular order).

I've known the bass player in the band for over 20 years and in fact he is one of the reasons I started playing drums again, just so I could play with him.
He's also my riding partner on those Sunday rides I sometimes post about.

So needless to say I'm super excited about tonight, especially getting to play some Band tunes.

I sure can Kay.

With the exception of the keyboard player these are the same guys I was doing open mic night with a while back.
It doesn't hurt that Levon Helm is one of my idols

In fact Pat (the bass player) and I just did our annual ride down to Woodstock last Sunday to pay our respect to Levon and Rick Danko (The Bands bass player).
Any time I get the chance to play a few Band tunes is an honor to my and a way for me to pay some more respect to Levon.
You know I'll have a real big smile on my face when I'm playing this.

break a leg! I would love to be able to listen to you play. Maybe you can get someone to record you and create a YT video! Love the song selection. One of my favorite songs of all times is "Into the Mystic"

Hope you had fun and did not break too many sticks a the wrong moment.

When I worked the door at a club, a popular local, local band had a guest pianist. He was also the piano teacher at a big, local church. He took the opportunity to email blast his list and invite them all to come see "his" band and get in for free. As you know, it does not really work that way at a small club. Sure, a few people can be on you guest list, just not a congregation and it's hard to argue with people who have been told "it's free".

  I wish I had a video of it all. The Bass players wife shot a short 2min. one on her phone and posted it to fb, I did share it on my timeline, but I'm not sure what restrictions she has on it.
  I couldn't find a proper link to share it here.
  I'll be getting out and playing more so hopefully I can get a decent video to share at some point.
