    Hi, Alvina,

Your thespian aspirations did not make themselves very clear - you should have memorised your script and 'performed it' rather than simply read it. The rather lifeless monotone in which you read the passage was most distracting - you could not seem to get excited and neither did I.

You might not like what I say - but I believe it.
Build it, make money, then build some more
Some old school smarts would help - and here's to Rob Toth for his help. Bloody good stuff, even the freebies!

I agree with artwebster. It sounded very boring and didn't make me want to vote for you at all. Are you able to re-upload or change it? If not, I think you should have asked for advice first.

"Sound and Look Professional on TV and the Internet" by Michelle McCoy.

That's something I came up with a quick Google search (it's on Amazon for $14.78). You can probably find something a lot more helpful and free.

    Good luck!

Thanks for the reply. I was actually quite sick (strep and a compacted wisdom toothe) when I recorded it and things kept going wrong (the recording device kept shutting off mid sentence and at the last part I had to stay completely still for the "wig" to work) at that point I had been up for 48 hrs and had to submit it in fear of missing the deadline. I found out about this competition 2 days prior right after driving all day from NJ to VA. While I agree at that point my energy was zapped and trully I wanted to die... In comparison I feel I am the only applicant that offered the other qualifications (originality, creativity, editing, taking video and still shots, blogging etc. Face of FOX 43 Official Rules | FOX43tv.com ) . Hopefully the judges will look past my monotone strep voice and see that I am the only one that would be able to hit the ground running. In round 2 I will have another chance to show that I have a the enthusiasm and personality...so why not help me get there? I am in 7th place out of 126 right now! Thank you for your suggestions and feedback.

    Alvina,

It is pretty decent. Would I vote for it? I am not too sure.

I am impressed with your skills and creativity in all the scenes of your town
        however......

If you want to be the face of Fox 43 how about showing your face.
The little cartoonish snippet at the end was uninspiring as far as getting my vote.

I had less problems with the voice over than some but a little excitement would be better.

Of course I do not know what Fox 43 is about---if it is a cartoon network maybe that will work.

Alvina, i spent all my life working as a Radio DJ and doing voice over for both commercials and tv specials, so I am going to push you a step further

Get rid of monotone and create high end lines.
Keep a cool and calm record BUT input some hot feelings too.

Those earing you need to feel your passion on this subject, you know? You need to "show" them that you LOVE what you're talking about, show them passion.

    Keep up the good work
