That remains to be seen, hello.

Today's polls show about 40% yes, 40% no and 20% undecided.

Until a sudden and dramatic change at the weekend (they were wearing kilts and stuff, before that), the figures from all the polls were very significantly different, with the "no" vote far in front.

The official vote is on Thursday 18th. It can all change a lot more, between now and then: a week is a long time in polit .... (oops, sorry, we don't discuss politics here ).

      http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotlan...itics-29136699
(I see this link actually gives a later poll than the one they were quoting earlier today, with very different figures again!)

The current polls have the NO vote about 5% in the lead and the people who normally predict these things best ( the bookmakers ) have the NO vote odds on to win the vote. However there is an unknown as nearly one million people are predicted to vote who don't normally in normal elections.

Being a Scot just now is pretty interesting as there is at least for the moment a genuine interest in politics.

Also don't read anything about this issue in the Daily Mail and expect it to be accurate as it's not known for it's quality journalism and often has an agenda.

The one thing that stands out (in the councils that have declared so far) is the high turnout of voters. On average around 85%.

As far as the votes go, I'd imagine there'll be a swing towards Yes as some of the more urban councils declare, but we'll see.

    And back to business...

Sterling jumped, reaching a new two year high against the euro in Asian trading hours, as the referendum was called in favour of the no vote. A further rally is now expected when dealing opens officially during London trading while the FTSE 100 was expected to open over 1% higher, which would leave it 60 points off its all time peak.

      There wasn't a "yes" vote.

The Queen was, as ever, extremely careful to say nothing at all, at any stage, to anyone, which might have revealed her own opinion/perspective on a political issue.

I see it did not take Salmond long to resign (again)...

He told a press conference in his official residence of Bute House that he would stand down as first minister in November when a new SNP leader will be chosen.

I wish you well in getting your facts correct going forward but of course you won't be able to but don't worry, blame England.

And yes, we're like the Borg, all the same, acting as a collective. We all look the same too. We all vote for the same party. Eat the same food, at the same time.

Question though, how does England (I won't mention names as it's best for your intellect if you think of the entire country as one thing) how does England in your book, by letting the Scots vote on independence, constitute us continuing on our invading ways?

Perhaps you should get your politicians to give you the vote. Then you could blame England if you fill the ballot paper in wrong. Like I suspect you do when the sun doesn't come out or you get a headache. Or your shoe laces don't tie up properly.
