The Dog Flu Virus: Are You or Your Pet at Risk? - Consults Blog - NYTimes.com

There is a new flu virus going around. It initially looked quite lethal, and caused panic. Now it is clear that it has killed relatively few victims -- and many of those have underlying conditions.
They could use that paragraph for 99% of the "flu" they find.

So will this cause a panic with people getting rid of their dogs - even though a human has never had this flu??? Poor poochies.

        LOL.

Our environment is now so toxic that most species are losing their defenses against diseases. A lot of em were always around but didn't make much impact on us before. Look at ingested bacterias - salmonella, botulism, Stomach "flus".

Those were always around but until recently humans created enough stomach acid to kill them. But now people are eating anti-acids - which cause one hell of a lot more problems than they fix (most burning that feels like acid actually is LACK of acid for digestion) - they are swearing off dairy in groves which contains calcium and will promote acid production because it is needed to break it down. If you start getting crap in your stomach the quickest way to contain it, kill it or at least lighten it up is to eat some yogurt to get your stomach acids cranking.

We are not only cranking our lives around in ways that make us more susceptible to illnesses - we have completely lost information about how the body used to naturally defend against most illness. Sure there are a few that have always taken people out, but face it ---we have become an incredibly ill species. We've created an environment and follow practices that we ourselves cannot survive.

If you are exposing your dog to the same toxins you expose yourself to - fluoridated water, toxic house cleaners, toxic care products, crap for food, your dog's gonna get sick. Duh.

I find it interesting that we have had dogs, pigs chickens, cows, for centuries, and only now that we also have pharmacutical companies, that suddenly we have 'pandemics' that originate in animals that have up until now, posed no threat to us one way or the other

I agree HeySal. I think we medicate ourselves way too much. I'm always fighting with my other half because she wants me to take this pill or that pill every time i have a minor sniffle and its hard to make her understand that your body can handle a lot of stuff, if you allow it to do so. I rarely take any medications that aren't absolutely mandatory.

Have you ever watched commericals for some of the medications? Yeah, this pill MAY fix your problem, but you'll have 10 more on top of that due to the pill.

The pill will stop your headaches, BUT there is the possibility of
    anal bleeding
    nasal drippage
    crotch rot
    butt mange
    blindness
    death

but by god your headache will be cured....and it will only cost you like $5.00 per pill

Mike I've said this before and I'll say it aagain.
I've never felt healthier then I have since I lost my health insurance and stopped going to doctors.
Last time I saw a doc was when I had back surgery and was told I was done doing anything. 6 years later I have been back to work for 3 years doing physical labor and feel great. I had to take Aleve for awhile, but now I just drink Switzle.
When I was going to doctors they had me on all sorts of meds and I felt like crap.

From speaking to colleagues in the US, most vets won't be recommending routine vaccination for the average family pet. It may be useful in shelter situations. My understanding is that it doesn't stop a dog getting the flu, but just reduces the severity of it.

Wonder if the manufacturer will end up covering their development costs on this one...

yogurt and sourmilk thingy is actually working against stomach flus because the bacteria used to make what their are are the bacterias that SHOULD naturally be in there and it out powers the badies lol.
like when you eat antibiotics and kill the good milk bcterias Well you know how your stomach will feel and what comes out lol no need to elaborate on that .
