But I'll let you decide for yourself. Where do they think of these things? LOL

Very, funny. The feigned seriousness is what sells it.

Comedy isn't a matter of good or bad taste - it's either funny or it's not.

And it's unlikely anyone now visits The Onion without knowing what type of material to expect.

And one man's soup is another man's poison. Funny is only funny if you find it funny. For someone else to tell you that something is funny is meaningless.

No different than someone stating that a song or a band is 'good.' I mean, think about it. Some people say that Pearl Jam and Nirvana are 'good.' Really??? Some people think that Dennis Miller is funny. Does that make him funny? No. It means they find him funny. Then, again, there was that one month in 1982. lol

That is one my favorites Steve. Lol. Very funny imo.

I think The Onion has done more offensive stuff also. Here's one for example:

Well, I just don't know what to make of that. I believe that is the first time in my life that I have ever laughed and groaned at the same time. Not one right after the other, but in the same instant. That said, the ending was just plain funny - 'to me.' Like I said, I'm a sick puppy.

          Cheers. - Frank

But they still fall for it when posted on FB.

I guess there are three main reasons why this kind of story gets shared.

          1) Someone finds it funny and wants to show it to others who'd appreciate the humor.
          2) Someone thinks it's a genuine story and wants to share the breaking news.
          3) Someone is so offended by the article they can't help sending it to everyone they know, so they can get offended too.

Those last two reasons only add to the joke.

I go to The Onion for all my news. It beats hanging out at the grocery store checkout line reading tabloids.

Steve, how long has it been since you've had a teenager or twenty-something at home? I'm assuming it's been quite a while.

Steve, it's a huge exaggeration of the trials and tribulations of raising kids, some of whom are much more difficult than others. It's what the Onion does and it's why it's funny because a lot of parents can relate in some manner.
