Sometimes, as I work on my websites... I zone out at the monitor and wonder 'is there any recreational substance I can take that is enjoyable but healthy'?
I think not

Some people will disagree, but smoking fatties isn't harmful to your health according to the professional research. It does, however, decrease some people's ability to work. I can't do it.

I agree with the poster above me (if ewikk055 is his real name)..............get some outside time if you're getting so restless that you're wondering what bad habits you can pick up to relieve it, then you need a change of scenery and a little bit of moving, stretching, and sun.

Just playing devils advocate and this isn't to say I have anything against a bit of weed but isn't smoking or combusting anything bad for your lungs? Carcinogens and all that stuff.

Vaporizing on the other hand....You do still get munchies though but you could remove that danger by shoving it in cake and biscuits and eating it instead.

Tea my friend, that`s an awesome experience and you can dig very deep in it.
I love Oolong tea (the one with low oxidation, around 20%), that`s what most master are loving and there`s so much different taste..

That`s a very spiritual experience, you will receive much from it if you invest yourself.

The other thing that help a lot is learning to play music, Piano, guitar whatever; that will give you a lot but it take times, lot of times so be ready to invest many many hours in it.

these are the 2 thing that help me to overcome bored..

P.S. If you want something stronger there`s also the blue lily flower, it`s a very spiritual plant that make VERY relaxing tea, it`s used to overcome the stress of addiction and you can order it online.
    Here`s a trusted source
    Buy Blue Lotus Nymphaea caerulea

    Good luck.

This. I quit drinking and smoking many years ago and started drinking more tea, though I prefer iced tea. I quickly discovered that I was allergic to one of the popular local brands (Rose?), but I found Fuse tea and have never looked back.

I was getting some exercise 5-6 days per week for a few years until I had a couple injuries. I've been trying to get back on track lately, but I have a torn labrum in my left shoulder and a brutal case of shin splints. I've had them before and the only way to get over them is to go slow at first and push through the pain.

Congratulations on your accomplishments! You should be very proud of yourself. :-)

You might look into exercise in a swimming pool. Hopefully you have some local classes.

Thanks for the tip. We have a pool in our complex, but I haven't used it in a couple years because of my ears. I get bad swimmers ear and between the pool and the bogenvias I was surrounded with that really irritated my allergies, I got pretty messed up a couple times. No joke! I had my wife take me to the ER once. The second time I was home alone with my son and it hit me out of the blue. I got vertigo really bad and couldn't even crawl to the phone. Scary!

I'd wear earplugs, but I'm terrified that I won't hear my son if something happened. Long story. I just can't do it.

I have to get busy doing something, though. We have a treadmill, elliptical and exercise bike in the fitness center, as well as weights. I'll start going down there again.

    Tear your hair out.

    Chew all your fingernails off.

Scream at the wife, kids, and anyone else that crosses your path.

    Kick the cat/dog.

Take a sneaky slug of bleach from the under-sink cupboard.

. . . . Do the above for 3 days then take the remedy:

    . . . Have a cigarette and a large brandy. Ah, bliss!

Huge debate on the e-cigarettes and their effect on the human body and still as yet untested side effects. I However really like them occasionally as smoking was always a weakness for me somehow the act was more addictive than the nicotine ... yeah small things and small minds

All the drugs are harmfull that`s a fact as you are unbalancing the human system which is perfectly balanced in itself.

I was there, done that until i became sick because of it, make me feel dizzy and took months after i stopped before i get back to normal baseline so yeah it`s bad (i`v read lot of stuff on weed and that is also creating psychotics break and other out of reality problem..)

Also it`s VERY addictive so stay away from this drug, it`s very bad for the health.

A good way of life, exercise, great self estime, meditation (good thinking) , eating healthy, lot of sleep and taking care of other peoples will give you all the drugs you need for free

Take a break and do something physical, whether it's exercise, taking a walk, doing a chore that needs doing. I'm not keen on suggesting a recreational substance to someone who has quit smoking and drinking substances.

If it is a matter of feeling tired or foggy, then, perhaps, you should get with a nutritionist or someone knowledgeable about diet and vitamins and minerals... Where I live, we have Vitamin Cottage and natural grocers like Whole Foods and they are always having free workshops.
