This news reporter quit to help legalize marijuana in Alaska. Not that interesting, but how she quit sure was.

TV Reporter Makes Unbelievable Exit On Air: 'F*ck It, I Quit'

"I'm going to fight for my completely legitimate cause in the stupidest, most unprofessional way possible, while doing something that's going do draw attention AWAY from my cause."

    Good job, lady.

    The employee has been terminated.

Lol, how can she be terminated when she already quit? Typical news reporting.

    I say, good for her!

Sounds like she was already given notice or told that she couldn't be a reporter for them and maintain ownership of the club.

"And as for this job, well, not that I have a choice but, f--k it, I quit."

The stunned anchor cracked me up.

I say you GO GIRL !!

Always get the last word in.

And do it in a way that is so classy and very prudent too.

After all who the hell in their right mind would want to leave the door cracked open just a little bit with any future TV gigs.... just in case the Pot thing didn't work out.

No that would be dumb, right ??

        HA - LMAOOOOOOOOOOOOO

That's where it went. She was told she'd have to quit her fight for legalization to keep her job - so she told the world what she thought of that. I don't blame her one whit for this. Loved it.

If everyone was able to do this when they are treated unfairly - our gov might still be workin' for us.

Anyone can quit their job - if they are willing to take the risk of doing without the pay check. This woman is counting on "fund me" sites to support her...that might work until the "cause" is either voted in or out.

If she's advocating for laws that will benefit her personally due to her side business - a media-based employer is going to have a problem with it.

She'll be a story for a day or two - truth is, the world doesn't care if she quits or not. I've seen people make these grand gestures as they leave a job and watched co-workers cheer them on. In a couple days, that person is replaced and forgotten.

Dear April: I don't want any trouble from you.
January was long, February was iffy, March was a freaking dumpster fire.
So sit down, be quiet, and don't touch anything.

All quite true, and I've quit a couple of jobs in a similar fashion, but I wasn't on air when I did it. I never regret either. Always replaced them with a job that was much more to my liking and usually went up the pay scale rather than down. Hopefully she'll find something that suits her better.

              Thanks button dead.

Seriously. Me, too. When a company decides that what I call getting paid for x amount of services is actually "we own you", I'm gone.

This woman is an activist for a certain cause and had an employer tell her she had no right to be an activist for a cause she is close to. We need more people that will stand up against a company that tries to dictate someone's political beliefs. Far too many of them are taking that point of view now. The role of a business is not to dictate which side of the political fence you are on and every American should be outraged that employment depends on a person's stance on such issues. Ever heard of fascism?

Come on, Sal - don't pull out the old fascism label.

I don't care how she quit - if she's happy, fine. But this isn't some poor downtrodden employee fighting "the man". She quit in a way that limits her future employment potential and I don't see any gain to be had in doing that. That's my reservation.

She is "an activist for a certain cause" BUT has a financial interest in that cause and if the cause succeeds, she profits. That's a belief system of a different color (green?).

Somewhat unrelated but I remember when Margaret Thatcher died and all those people that had maintained a silence for the 20 odd years she'd been retired decided to come onto the streets acting like they'd just be released from the grasps of Satan. Well there was one lady who was 18 and therefore not even alive when Mrs T retired and she was busy spray painting a wall with "The bitch is dead!"

When asked why she was doing this by a reporter she said live on air "It's because of Thatcher I can't get a job". I remember thinking that despite the fact she was retired before that girl was even born, the reason going forward the dim little twonk wouldn't get a job was because she was illegally defacing a wall, when she should have been looking for a job, live on day time TV.

Sorry, totally off topic, it just reminded me of the daft munter.

I'm usually odd one out on stories like this. It's a tacky way to quit in this case. She was only a reporter - not an anchor and it wasn't her show. She's not hard to replace but just ended her TV career.

Burning career bridges when you are young and excitable...isn't smart. I never understand when people are like "that's the way to go"...what is so talented about dropping an f-bomb and your job?

I think she should be very careful because someone may be trying to make an example out of her.
