Please interpret my dream

Last night, I had a vivid dream and I would like to have someone to interpret it for me.

The setting was a beachside bungalow-type cottage. It was like a vacation house of ours or something. Water started to seep inside the house, it seems that it was High Tide. So, we moved all the furniture outside the house. My family can see the dark sky, indicating that there's a storm coming. From afar I can see that the sea is sill calm, but the waves have begun receding. (A sign of a coming tidal wave, perhaps?)

People in the village have started to pack up their things and move away from the place, but I decided to stay and watch to "enjoy" what's going to happen next. Then I woke up, never to remember what happened next.

I don't care much for the ending, though I would like it to be interpreted in a personal yet general way. Please, there's no need to search the web for answers. I already did.
But it would be fun if I hear your interpretations.

You could ask me details about me, to further deepen your explanations. I would use this dream as a yardstick of what I should be doing in my life next.

That sounds very lucid. Sadly I'm not an interpreter of dreams but I'm sure someone will pop along and help out.

Personally I had a dream I was abseiling down the Eiffel tower without ropes with an elephant I'd befriended called George. When we got to the bottom we were in Covent garden and George had turned into my Aunt Sally.

Then Shane came along and took me to Mars, or something.

Then I woke up and needed the toilet.

You're more likely to get people au fait with the topic if you post in Mind Warriors.

Having said that, if you spend too long in that forum it's more likely nightmares you'll be having, not dreams.

I wouldn't bet money on it, then.

Better stay on Off Topic, maybe a seer or an oracle would drop by.

Motorola stock (bungalow) has been down (waves receding) for a long time and is now at the point (dark sky) that a person can't buy it even if they wanted to (moving furniture).

I hope that you can get some closure on this.

I love the interpretation, close but no cigar. I'm a Nokia guy myself, so there.

That one's easy. It means you need to drop a few pounds.

@NRabosa: The link details several possibilities. My interpretation is that you know a major change is coming in your life. Your friends and family see it coming. You either don't care, aren't concerned, or don't consciously see it.

          Crazy, you're probably right.

I haven't had that one since I started hitting the weights and cleaning up my diet. I'm talking over 4 or so years since I remember having that one.

It's kind of weird that we all have similar dreams with similar meanings.

        In Your Dreams.

I haven't made a study of dreams. But it seems like we would have common themes, just like we have commonalities in real life. And our interpretation of dreams is similar, because we are the ones making up the meanings.

I know, that depending on the level of sleep, some parts of the brain are inactive, and some are active. This would explain why we can dream that we are carrying on a conversation with a unicorn, and it makes perfect sense to us...in the dream.

But pretty much everything else, from me, is a guess.

I know that almost none of our thoughts are verbal, meaning conscious. And in dreams, some of these deeper thoughts may emerge and create a story.

But actually giving our dreams meaning? I think it's just random electrical currents that happen when we sleep. But again, that's just a guess.

I had a dream when I was a teenager, and I woke up all yucky...now, that dream had meaning.

But Riffle calling me an Orifice? That is a dream of his.

I'd say this dream suggests you have a cool head, or you are learning to be more cool-headed. Since your family were in the dream it might be about other people's emotions and how that affects you. That the villagers ran away but you just stayed and decided to watch is a good thing, you decided to observe the emotions(water) and enjoy life rather than let dramas overwhelm you. It is not necessarily about anything particular, on the other hand if dramas happen, stay cool, you don't have to move out the furniture and sacrifice your comfort when emotions run high. Just get waterproof furniture. Dream Interpretation Disclaimer: I could be wrong about anything or everything.

Also I find it interesting that HeySal's dream group was using methods similiar to remote viewing (a target that is unknown to the viewers/dreamers) and that most of you hit the target. Never heard of that method before.

Unfortunately - dream books that "interpret" dreams are a hoax. Nobody can truly interpret a dream but the dreamer. That is your subconscious mind talking to you.

If your dream resembles anything you saw and thought about that day it was probably non-REM dreaming. During non-REM dreaming, the mind goes over data that it has absorbed over the day - events or things that made an impression. Of course it will be a bit kiltered, but those dreams don't mean much other than your mind is sorting stuff out.

If it was REM dreaming - everyone else in that dream represents YOU. That's important in interpreting because the interaction you have with them tells of a disposition in your own mind. For instance - you said that everyone else saw the danger and left, while you wanted to stay and see how things work out. That would suggest to me that in your life you have warnings (perhaps from others, perhaps doubts of your own) that things are going to get rough - but you are ready to face the problem rather than running away from it.

Don't take that as a genuine interpretation because I don't know you. It was just an option of what it might mean to help you discover the meaning yourself.

Remember that the subconscious mind will dig up things that have not been coded so the people, objects, animals, et al are very symbolic. While someone who knows you well might be able to help you figure out symbolism (such as the storm coming - that seems fairly straight forward), again........we can't know what your brain is telling you for sure.

Serious? I don't think there's a book that REALLY can interpret Dan, either. Our current wave of "tolerance" doesn't really allow books that describe differences in the various branches of sapiens. We're all listed as Homo Sapien in order to "spare hurt feelings". Until we're allowed the scientific freedom to differentiate the subcategories, there's really no real way to understand things like Riffles and Whitacres.

haha I was kidding. To be honest, Dan had me wondering, though, because I don't recall that dream after adopting a healthier lifestyle. He did pm me his 900-dream-with-me phone number so I should have known better.

It's still kind of strange to think many of us do have similar dreams.

Is there anyone that didn't dream of teeth falling out? It sounds like a widely common dream. I even dreamt of losing my hair. Still trying to figure the meaning of that dream.

haha Sorry Ken, at least you don't have to worry about dreaming of a pink Claude in a bubble suit.

Why? We live in societies where our typical daily lives are much the same.

I led a dream group last year and we had targets that only two people in the group would know ahead of time. They were supposed to think about the targets and we'd all see if we would hit them in our dreams. No general stuff like "I was in a city, I was in the country, yadda yadda" that was too general to be taken seriously as a common wave of info. One night almost every one of us dreamed very distinctively similar items to the target. They all hit different aspects - but the correlation was undeniable. It was crazy. We all seemed to remember our dreams that night, too. When everyone had reported in and the target was posted, we all sat back on our heels in a "whoah" minute.

The workings of the mind are just incredibly interesting and endless.

Yeah, that makes sense but it still gave me that "whoah" moment to think we were all sharing similar dreams.

I know we can and often do interpret information and surroundings differently so the idea that our dreams can be so similar was surprising.

That experience was mind blowing! I'll never forget it.

Another thing that blew my mind was when I hit the target a night early just after you and another member had chosen it for the following night, and still not knowing it, hit that same target in 3 little dreams the following night, however, from a different angle.

That one still perplexes me. Another dream I'll never forget was dreaming about it the night before a spammer/scammer revealed himself in the group the next day! Yeah, the mind is a wondrous thing for sure!

No, Joe wasn't a part of our dream group. This person violated the dream group by sending individual private messages to each member there, (on the Telekinetic Marketing forum) trying to use us all for monetary gain. That really ticked Sal off!

The Joe thing totally took me by surprise.

Are you putting off something that you should be doing or thinking about pushing the line on something?

The reason I ask is because your bungalow could represent you're on vacation, perhaps from doing something you know you should, or doing something you know you shouldn't and taking a vacation from thinking about the consequences. Maybe struggling with the decision.

On the one hand you start moving out furniture from rising water but think the water is just from high tide. Your family (perhaps you also as HeySal suggested, a struggle maybe?) sees the dark sky, indicating a storm brewing, but you look further out and see calm skies and water receding.

The village starts moving out of the area but you want to stick around and see what happens.

Sounds like you aren't budging. So are you internally struggling with an issue you haven't dealt with and procrastinating about it?

Perhaps you woke up before the end because your subconscious you doesn't want to the see negative consequences of it.

    Just a thought...

I guess my dream can be summed up in one explanation that would trump all explanations: It's sexual in nature.

Ah yes, I see it now. By the beach, move bed onto beach, start having sex, villagers move out, you wake up and missed the big moment.

If your sexual nature caused the whole village to flee, ummm, that's a bit concerning, lol!
