I think this qualifies as an off topic post.

I have been told, several times, that traffic exchanges are good to use and that I should use them. I have seen products for sale like "Make millions with TEs" or "The secret about TEs the gurus don't want you to know" and others of that ilk.

Having tried three highly recommended TEs I am wondering what I am missing. The idea of looking at other people's web sites so that they will look at mine has never really made sense to me. Following advice about using tabbed browsers to surf multiple TEs at once showed me that the chances of influencing anybody who was surfing are extremely slim.

Recently I have been receiving more emails promoting TEs and I am wondering if this is because my email address has been circulated among TE owners or whether there really is a rennaisance in the TE field.

Somebody please tell me - is surfing of any value and what, if anything, you get out of it (apart from bored).

TE are the pits for selling products - you may make a little bit of money if you're lucky - but they were a big time suck for me and eventually got me banned from a few programs. Totally my fault for not realizing what I was doing.

However, some folks indicate using traffic exchanges can be effective if you use them to build your list rather than trying to sell a product. I.E. give away a free report in order to get their contact information.

Having screwed up big time once, however, I just ignore them now.

    best,--Jack
