Bros my sister is Missing in action for 3 weeks now. She and her husband still communicating with us but we are not so sure if that is really her and wouldnt want to reveal their location, wouldnt give us some hint if that's really her, not replying on all of our emails. Whole family is freaking out and we dont know if she's still alive or not, Phones offline as well.

Only thing we have on my sister is the email address they are using where they sent us 2 emails for 3 weeks now. What can you suggest we would do at this very moment? Im thinking of hacking the email address and look at the sent items, Is there anyone who can do this?

We have tried most of the options like contact and visited all their friends, no one really knows where they are.

Moderators: My apologies if this thread is bad, please delete if necessary, thank you

Do you know if they are in the states or not? Are there reasons that not knowing where she and her husband are for a few days is a reason for actual alarm?

Thanks for the quick reply. We really dont know their location, not a single hint if they are in the US or not.

We've been in the same table every week and she just disappeared without any notice, that's what's raising the alarm

Well she's married and if you all have a ritual of eating together at least once a week, they might have just wigged out and wanted to be off and away for a change. Unless there's reason to worry - like not showing up to a job when supposed to, I wouldn't. Adults are allowed to get a wild hair once in awhile, too. My father would have died of a coronary by now if he worried every time I was out of contact for a few days.

Thanks for the reply, shes not showing up in her job, on their house, literally disappeared.

I would understand if she would want to be separated from the family. The family gathering is not forced, its a choice to be there or not and she knows it. Literally there's no communication, no text, no phone calls, no letters. Just disappeared completely. Yesterday was the 3rd sunday she's gone. 3 weeks not days she disappeared

Okay - now THAT is something to worry about. Have you talked to the police? A detective?

Does she carry a cell phone with her? Have either the phone company or the police track her by phone. They can track almost every cellphone by GPS even if it's off as long as it's in one piece. Check the house and if you can, get someone to stay there in case one of them comes back.

Not sure what you mean "been in the same table every week", but MIA for three weeks, I'd be with law enforcement and/or a reputable private detective (maybe not as expensive as you'd think if they can just use their databases, etc.) ASAP.
I mean were having a family gathering every week a family tradition. Done with the police and they're on the lookup for her. Private detective would be our last resort, thanks for that suggestion.

Yes we already did, the phone is offline. No GPS, calling is impossible cause the phone is offline.

Only communication we have right now with her is the email address they used to contact us. Would you think getting the email hacked or the IP lookup on the email address would tell us something or that would be a bad choice in your perspective?

Why not call the cops? Instead of coming to this forum?

We already did since week 1 and still no results. Posted it in the forums to look for more ideas and suggestions rather than wait

Are you saying your sister is literally missing? If you are in the USA, I would be working with the authorities.

They can easily trace IP addresses these days.

I wish you the best. The forum is the wrong place to look. Contact the authorities. Elevate it as high as you can.

    Good luck.

I'm back to the private detective. They can do a lot electronically.
Databases, GPS - cell phone possibly trackable unless battery has been removed,
Credit card useage, IP address/ email stuffs...

Perhaps a lawyer as well - just their presence and letterhead can open doors,
pressure the police more - at least in the USA. Don't know where you are.

Three weeks - or 3 Sundays? And two weeks you've had an email saying it was from your sister? What did the emails say - and who were they sent to? Why don't you think it's from your sister?

shes not showing up in her job,
What about her husband...his job. Is he also gone without anyone knowing about it? Does a family member have access to their home to see if luggage, toiletries, clothing seems to be gone? Do they have neighbors or friends you can ask?

Do you know of any reason they might leave - personal, family, business, legal? If there were a reason - would you be told of it?

If I truly believed there might be foul play I would hire a private detective. However, if I decided to leave for a while and my family set someone on my trail, I would not be happy.

I dunno Kay - any time a family member goes completely off the charts to the point they aren't going to work and the spouse is not there to answer questions either - it's time to not really give a darned if they don't like being tracked. A simple note with an "I'm gone for awhile, will contact you in awhile, no worries." would be appropriate if they leave and all is good despite the looks.

For the record OP is not from the USA like the forum profile says, which triggers my BS radar.

Sal - He said they sent 2 emails - but he didn't believe them. He's not in this country - so they aren't either.

No idea - but they won't be found on a forum.

yep I know and thanks. Here looking for ideas cause Im already out of it.

Just got an idea to get the IP of the emailer on my email addresses, First step but better than nothing. Acting like the investigator here while police is taking their time. I also got a suggestion that the IP address can be used by private investigators when they're hired

Maybe, maybe not. I don't see how not being from the US automatically makes someone a bullshyter. A lot of people in the US are. I'd need more to go on than that before calling someone full of it.

If it's not BS and this guy is truly trying to find answers, some of them here must be very disheartening. Maybe I just don't understand why someone would be interested in flinging crap of this nature.

You never said anything about her relationship with the husband. Was it stable, loving, no sign of disharmony or violence?

His profile says he is "US" - turns out he's not. I initially read the OP's answer quoted above as "don't know if they have LEFT the US or not". But seems they weren't in the US to begin with so ...

I feel for the guy and hope his family turns up. But I can see why someone might have doubts. Reality is - if he's not in the US and the family wasn't in the US... we can't help find them and we can't advise on how to proceed in another country.
