Anyone need some fresh first crop hay? I got plenty for sale... only $3/bale.

It's so fresh and tasty, I bet any animal couldn't resist...

Second hay crop coming as soon as it stops raining

$3 a bale?? That's less than a grande iced mocha at Starbucks!

Hmmm.... maybe I'll make the switch to save a bit of money...

          Ken,

A bale of hay is a LOT of food. You got me thinking... hmmm...

I'll save some bales for you... how many do you think you would eat over the winter?

That's a pretty decent price for hay. I don't know how much hay it takes to make a horse, but it must be extremely profitable considering horsemeat can be sold for as much as $35/pound. Although illegal in the US, horsemeat is considered a delicacy in asia and even in some european countries. In fact, most people can't even tell the difference between horsemeat and beef. I once overheard a fellow American couple complain in a Paris restaurant that they could not find a decent hamburger there. When the waiter came by to take their order, he pointed to the "steak haché (chevaline)" listed on the menu. He did not mention that "chevaline" means horsemeat. They ordered it and seemed to enjoy it. If they only knew ...

    Hay Tina,

Yea, people are happy with $3 per bale, most others in my area are charging 3.25-3.50, so three bucks is a pretty good deal. For certified organic fields/hay it's on average 1-2 bucks more.

    Hay Thom,

Getting about the same for straw here, just a little less, have only heard of 6.50 at the most so far.

Yea, my farmers tan is not very impressive this year either... I bet your bike is mad at you You been getting in any miles at all? If it ever does clear up this summer you should definitely take a ride over to my neck of the woods.

      It has cobwebs on it
I'd love to take a ride up there if we ever get a couple of dry days on a weekend.
Going to Boonville the 18th of July but that's the only plans I have for now.
Sometime it mid to late Aug. would be good and a lot more fun
