If Adolph was around today, that would be him, minus the mustache.

Look mate, for the PC version, just get rid of the tiles altogether. We want usability, productivity, stability and familiarity.

Not fricking tiles, leave them for tablets and cellphones.

Well, that's the issue. Trying to be a one-stop system for all devices. Seems like 8 didn't work to well in that regard.

The first thing I did when I got my desktop with 8 is buy Start8 from Stardock which makes 8 look and behave like 7.

FINALLY! Now THAT I can live with. What ********IDIOT********* came up with the current(8.x) "APP" idea ANYWAY!?!?!?

Maybe they know they REALLY have to get the new version out ASAP, and plan to have a version 9, but want to involve the general public for their next beta. Since it is IMPOSSIBLE to do that with 9, since it has to be out ASAP, they picked v10.

ALSO, this isn't 8 OR 7. It has a start menu like 7, the tiles like 8, and has a few nice features like "APPS" with REAL windows, with the 8 like tiles on the side, and the command screen is *****THE***** command screen, rather than the TWO screens now, ALSO, it has the ability to handle MULTIPLE work areas rather than the apparent limit of 2 that v8 has. Frankly, this gives me a bit of hope there.

BTW wasn't v10 going to be "CLOUD" based?

BTW what he said sounds almost like an ALPHA! ALMOST! A BETA is generally a pretty finished product, that goes to a part of the public to have them test it in real circumstances, and help to fix the bugs. It could be a year or more before something like this could be for sale in the stores.

Could not have said it better lanfear63 do away with the tiles or at least have it as a choice when working on the desk top. Touch screen versions keep the tiles as an option as well. We are trying to do adult work around here and win 9 plat form will not do at all.
