You Can't Use Prepaid Phones for Craigslist Accounts!?
 

I've read somewhere that CL doesn't allow the prepaid phones as a source of verification. Can anyone vouch for this? I know you can't use alternatives like voip but I was thinking of buying a few prepaid phones just to use with CL.

I don't know but it wouldn't surprise me. You used to be able to verify with skype numbers. Let me know if you figure something out! :]

I don't see why not. I can understand with skype and all that, but with a pre-paid phone? That doesn't seem right. A lot of people actually use pre-paid phones as their main phones from time to time. But CL wouldn't surprise me either if they did this.

There's this guy that's selling a "system" called "Craigslist Code". I never heard of it until today when I was trying to find out some secret tips or something. He said that CL doesn't accept prepaid. I haven't tried it so who know's! All I'm trying to do is post more than 3 ads! Per account I have lol. And crazy thing is, I've been getting ghosted lately so realistically only two of my ads are showing out of the 9, yeah it's that bad.

I remember that! Something has got to give but no one is willing to give up the goods lol.

VOIP's do NOT work. Prepaid phones DO work but it depends on the service provider. For example, even sprint family plan phones do not work. While, on the other hand, pay phones work that accept calls!

I find no reason for not allowing prepaid phones. They are most used ones I guess

I may have gotten in before a change, who knows, but I have 10 prepaid cell phones linked to different accounts. If this is true, I guess i will be going to Twillio or something similar and getting a pack of numbers for my activities.

I used to use prepaid phones from AT&T and they worked fine. I'm not sure if that is the case any more.

Find a pay phone nearby that allows incoming calls... verify that way LOL. Wait.... do pay phones still exist?

I am also looking for a way to verify craigslist. I used prepaid sim cards from at&t but haven't tried lately. If someone finds a fix let me know :D

Hopefully this info is still valid. I was setting an account up on New Years Day with my skype phone # and got blocked...didn't get back to it and here we are at the weekend again.

I have a pre-paid phone and had no problem verifying my account.
I had a contract and was paying $200/month for my wife and I.
Now I have StraighTalk from WalMart. It was the only prepaid service that had the best coverage at the time I was looking for the best price.
Now I pay $90/month for unlimited everything.

I used Skype Online Number to verify the craigslist account but craigslist is not verifying that number and asking for another number. Any other way to verify the Craigslist account?

I just used a pre-paid today to verify a CL account. They still work... probably not all of them. It is something CL says just to scare the noobs and to be able to hold people accountable in regards to their TOS.

Yeah, some work, but they've been cutting them out more and more lately. I'd say the majority of prepaid phones no longer work. ATT used to work for me when I was using the prepaid phones.

There are SOME places you can go online to buy numbers and have them forward. That sometimes works!

If you buy a number that forwards, always ask if they work with craigslist before buying.

It doesn't. It used to then CL updated their system.

I use a pre-paid cell phone with service provided by Cricket and it works fine for me to verify and place ads on Craigslist.

Not having played in the PVA arena yet I am curious...do you have to verify the account more than once?

Can I set up a prepaid and then let it expire and still post in the PVA sections?
