Great thread, great forum... In the last months, I tried several things online. I think I represent well the classic guy, that classic newbie that really want to make a second income and possibly a full income out of the internet to have a better quality of life, but without any success up to date. I tried selling ebay, adsense, amazon affiliate, promoting free cpa offers via my website, but the thing is unless you rank very well in google, you won't have any traffic and you won't get any money (3$ like the example given in 1 year is NOT what I called money). Congrats to him, but I am looking for much more than this. And then I found offline marketing. I did not start yet, because in the last days I've been busy reading lot of material, but offline marketing make lot of sense because in your area, everyone of us might be the only one contacting businesses to offer our services. Online, there is SO MUCH competition, it is ridiculous. This is why it takes lot of time and knowledge to be able to rank top 10 in google and HOPE to make money. I am not saying that online marketing is all bad. In fact, with online marketing, I was able to increase my skills a bit when it comes down to make a wp website. Without it, I wouldn't be able to promote my services to build a simple website for businesses. Thanks to John, I downloaded his free telemarketing report and it was a great start. Now I try to read as much as I can about offline marketing, how to promote, how to deal, how to close etc. I will build a plan and I am more confident that it will bring results quicker than online. I hope so, because recently it was very hard to not see any results from all these online efforts. |

Did anyone catch my Case in point?: Just Made My First Dollar in IM! This guy has been on here for almost a year now. Not poking fun, because he deserves his excitement, but this is why Offline is the fast track. When you see a person get their first sale in OFFLINE, its usually hundreds or thousands, and its usually within weeks of really applying what we teach, if not days. Plus it usually comes with residual income. I rest my case. |

The big thing right now is long tail keywords for building niche sites. I have tried that for a few months and managed to make big leaps in it. Even though it was very little return for each site I built, it was really exciting to see a couple dollars come from almost nowhere. Its more like a hobby or game, not a business. Only a very few actually take it like a full blown business and have managed to make great incomes, but it still takes a lot of work to manage hundreds of sites. My advice for a true newb is to start with long tail keywords and keep doing it until you get it right, then step 2 is to come to the offline forum. It is a great area for learning and educating yourself how to handle bigger fish. Without the experience in mass niche site building I am sure I would not be as educated in SEO or online marketing. You learn just about everything you need too. Come to WF to study the material then you go build your sites, similar to lab in college. The education you get here will definitely not put you in debt like a university would and you learn immediately, first hand how to make money. What turned me off of the mass niche site building approach to making money online was the shear amount of competition. Using keyword and competition analysis software you can just see how people have hoarded the internet with the intent of some adsense money. Whats worse is that it is exponentially getting harder to find these online niches because these guys who are making $10 a month are all of the sudden more motivated than ever to expand their niche empire 10 times over. Get my point? Offline/online marketing for local businesses is the best since you nearly have a large amount of niche businesses that have no idea what to do online to help advertise their businesses. I thought it would be more saturated than it is but I am glad I was wrong. There are still those local businesses that are hard to handle like lawyers, doctors, real estate etc. But they are just a drop in the bucket. |

Offline is the fast track! Otherwise if you don't have really good skills you won't make one penny.

Dont make excuses like a telemarketer I recently hired has been doing all week! Gosh, sometimes I think I should just go back to starting an office where I can actually see people working.

Bump: Reason 1, this is a really good thread. Reason 2, i am sick of adrians thread sitting at the top. If people READ this thread they can make some money. For you guys who are on to him, just bump a bunch of good threads... literally knock him off the front page. |

What kills me is the lack of focus on what is real. Some people are so desperate, they will listen to anything. ... Anything that is , that will keep them from doing the things that they need to do to be successful. Maybe ill join you over there. I am rather pissed off at myself today. I was distracted , and NOT on my game. I only had three sales today. I could probably use a bitch slap of reality. One that can only be dished out by other sales people.

Me too Ken, I have been jerking around waiting for my new telemarketer to quit making excuses and get on the phone everyday this week, first it was friday wasnt a good day to start, then monday it was a sprained wrist, then tuesday the pain killers were too strong, better wait till wednesday, then wednesday she couldnt print out the leads, so half the day's blown, better start thursday...., then thursday I dont know what the heck happened but I just told her "Dont work or tell me you are going to anymore until you are all healed and you can tell me there is no reason not to be here 100%" All week long I should have been making the calls myself. So I need a kick in the ass myself. I could have made ten grand for the time I spent jerking around counting on someone else who gave me signs the first day that I was going to be getting jerked around all week. Tomorrow I hit the phones personally till I can get a couple of good people. I knew better of course, but gave myself permission to listen to excuses because it excused "me", from saying "I just need to get on and do this myself this week". Note: In the morning I could easily wake up and say "Its best not to set leads 3 days out so I might as well wait till monday".... NO! NO! NO! Thats NOT the ticket. The ticket is to get up and move like a freight train no matter what perceived obstacle. That is the only thing that has ever made me a million dollars and its the only thing that ever will. Excuses are for people who dont have any sales at the end of the week, which I did manage a couple, but still...not reaching the potential or objective. |

| Yeah I reconsidered the implications. But yes. Im not above needing a kick in the ass myself from time to time. Just starting over my offline business with a new model, and I need to get it in gear. Highly frustrated with myself today and not happy about my performance this week. |

nahhh, i don't think you really need a kick.. ever. IMHO, you need self motivation. period. your are one of those that actually control there own destiny, and you know it. It is possible, for the moment you are busy ... thinking of others. if that is true ( and i can be way off ), you may just need to put others on pause for a hot moment, and take care of you and yours. I retired, got convinced to come back. I was pretty excited to come back but i made excuse after excuse not to get back on the phone. I wound up being called out by an employee... at first i was like HOW DARE HE then i was like " he doesn't have any idea.. F him " then, after a few days i got so pissed off, i just did it. and it felt o so frigging awesome.. .it must be how crack heads feel.... Edit--- Do not forget who you are. Edit 2 --- Dude, this was my 1000 post.... i had thoughts of what to do with it.. we even discussed it. instead, i used it, trying to make one of my idols understand how awesome he truly is, and remind him of how many people look upto him. i could not have designed it any better bro. I am truly honored.

Alright, now we are onto something , Im just gonna embrace it and go with it... Ken, after a couple of years off the sales floor, I got into doing liquidation deals a few years ago... then after coming off a BIG loss on a deal that I had put all my eggs in for months... I decided to start my offline marketing business again. I got a handful of sales, and got on the WF and talked about them, then people started asking me to write reports! Okay, if you know me and my love for being on a sales floor as a top trainer...that REALLY excited me. Next thing I know people are sending me thousands of dollars to write reports and what happens to my offline business...? You got it, back burner. I will be honest with you 100k is SHIT compared to what I can make, but for the last couple of years I have been happy at about six figures... doing a small deal here and there and mostly training people here and at my forum. Well recently I have gotten sick of seeing my students take my teaching and make twice what Im making with it. lol So I decided to start Vicom. Then I ended up in court over a divorce and custody battles...and my ninety day goals went to SHIT- excuse the language but Im frustrated today. So being a person who has done this before and made well over 7 figures I think to myself when starting Vicom "Oh Im all inspired..." that works, and yes you can change anything in 90 days... As a matter of fact, in less than ninety days I became the top telemarketing authority HERE, and making a fulltime income at it starting from ZERO... you can do ANYTHING you want. But everytime I have ever really gotten successful was when I got totally sick of mediocrity, and thats where Im at now. The frustration you see me expressing is FUEL. 6 figures does not cut it... It was cool to be a teacher, but its not the highest pay. Im ready to rock my offline business again. If anybody hates me for this post. Go for it. In a sense I think I may be almost intentionally sabotaging myself from teaching right now (with this post)... because I really have to go back to thinking about my personal prosperity for awhile, although it has been great helping others. I have been ready to change directions for months now really, just got stuck in that catch 22 where "Now you make a living as a teacher, so you cant stop teaching long enough to do your other work..."... but tomorrow Im breaking that chain. Im going to teach my own telemarketers again, there is enough great work and teachers here on WF for people to learn from. I can tell you all this after this experience. You dont get a higher reputation on the WF than I have achieved at times here... but even at its highest ONLINE MONEY ISNT NEAR WHAT OFFLINE MONEY IS!

adapt or die. also ... "F" reports. one phone call can equal the same amount of money. we both know i am not even saying something you don't already know. Jason kanaji is here on WF now, he is a born teacher ... let him teach. that now frees you up to make 100 mill... or more |

I have often wondered why i hung out here. I am really wondering in the last 10 min or so... is this THE reason, nothing more then to remind you, that you have your own pair of wings and it is time to stretch them out, and fly... that is prob waaay to self indulgent... but i do question everything Good luck ... Ps. Probably the most offensive thing I think I said in that post was "100k is SHIT" The reason that could be offensive is that some people could be from countries where its actually alot... But before I go I want to say to those other people in those other countries. "If you have a phone then 100k is doable for you-and more" Dont let that be your excuse. It took me twenty years to become a phone pro, and if you have to dig and scratch a little Boo hoo- We all do. Just do it! Edit: Ken you have a higher purpose than just to help ME, but I have to tell you, at this level you are the only one who COULD. So thanks. I probably listen to you more than any other offliner. Most people I think I could teach a thing or two- YOU? I think I could learn alot from. THAT was self indulgent. No apologies. lol Its not that others dont have something to say, its that we pick and choose who we actually LISTEN to. And you have my respect. I listen to you. |

Maybe off point a little... "Bad things happen to good people." "It's not how many times you fail, it's how many times you pick yourself back up." I watched my father devote 100 hours travelling nationally for 20 years, selling out to a Fortune 100 company and making multi-millions, retiring to Florida at 49. Gave his life away for a dream and achieved wild success. Invested half in the stock market and half in Florida real estate before the crash. Recovered his stock market investment, but ended up in divorce with his crazy wife; ex sabatauged (sp) the children and one won't speak to him. Lost half of what he had left post-divorce... sold his dream home for a pittance in Florida. Don't get me wrong... he's still doing well. Doesn't really have to work any more if he lives lean. But imagine having 75% of what you worked for for over 2 decades, gone within 3 years... (Iamnameless... words of wisdom -- don't get married without a pre-nup, LOL). Bottom line, if we can weigh out the entirety of someone's life, which is next to impossible due to the Internet naturally being a reality-vacuum, everyone struggles hard, REAL hard at times. It's how we manage to pick ourselves up and press forward that makes us men. Quote:

I have kicked around this forum in and out for a while...made small amounts of money (note..small!!) via affiliate marketing..I have never even entered this section of the forum to be honest. Eyes and ears very very open..just clicked the free offline report. So many questions and thoughts spinning a bit now, but will read the report first and hopefully get any questions answered. And if the method is what it seems to be so far, I have absolutely no qualms about getting on the phone to every company in my area! Reading with excited anticipation, many thanks for the info so far!! Alan |

John, this is a great thread. There's a lot of people out there looking for something. -- whether it's to supplement their income, start a business, etc -- and they're not sure what to do. Next time I get that question from someone, I'll be able to point them to your thread!

Offline marketing isn't fundamentally different from affiliate marketing. You're trying to generate sales for someone else's business. The difference is with offline the competition is MUCH less and the checks per sale are much bigger. |

Love this post John..just got chills thinking about where I was 2 years ago and where I am now... 2 years ago I spent hours browsing WF while stuck in my corporate job, reading about others success in offline, yet didn't have the push to try it myself (doubts, fears, "is this for real?") and finally quit corporate early this year and forced myself to take my business seriously--within 3 weeks got my first 3 clients and haven't looked back since then.. Anybody can do this..the dream, the lifestyle, the income, the opportunity to help business owners is within all of our reach..the only question is: will you make the decision and take the action? John, you're awesome..I don't need my afternoon coffee after reading this! |

Hmm...wow! John, thank you. You've helped renew my fire. And this time I'm doing it for my Dad, as I want to make him proud and he is watching...Question: Where do I grab that free telemarketing report mentioned in the thread?
