Successful Offline Warriors GATHER - How We Built A Library

Fellow Offliners,

Can you put your money where your mouth is? There is no doubt that a lot of BS exists in this forum, then again this place is also filled with people who are the real deal. People who are building businesses, doing what they want in life and succeeding. The jargon in this forum is often about "giving back to the community" and we all know, us offliners, we're all about taking action.

Can you imagine the feeling of giving children the same opportunities we have, can you imagine us warriors gathering and building a freakin library? It would take a FRACTION of what we in this forum earn in a SINGLE DAY. It would take 5000$. To fill a library shelf with books would cost us 25 bucks. This is what I donated to start this off and damn is it a good feeling, tomorrow it will be a lot easier to know that part of the money I earn is going somewhere that makes a difference. Have you ever had trouble with motivation and procrastination? Try this.

I have set up a fundraising page at Room to Read where we can follow our progress to establishing a library in a third world country. I'm going to continue donate 1% of my monthly income and I hope that some of you successful warriors want to do the same.

Click here to be one of the warriors who built a library!

Your reasons doesn't really matter, do it because you will feel great about yourself, do it because you'll get more motivated or do it because you want to do something good. It doesn't have to be much, 1 dollar will give a child a new book. Without getting to much into clichés, maybe you can skip one starbucks coffee?

Even if you can't spare any money, at least support us by keeping this thread alive and spreading the donation link to as many people as possible.

I sincerely hope that you will take action and show people that it's not just BS in here. Me, the people involved with room to read and more importantly, all the children we help will be extremely grateful. I will of course follow up with the progress of establishing this library.

Click to see how far on the way we are!

Thanks,

Carl

It sounds like a great idea and Im for it, but this week my focus is on getting some relief to Ken Strong... afterwards I will come revisit this. We are coming out with an offline package tomorrow called the BRAT pack with all star "strictly offliners" for Kens cause...and dont worry "Its Sammy Davis Junior Approved".

This is a great idea. I have several charities that I donate about 30% of my gross income to currently, and they change from year to year...Between that and 15% tithes, and kids that always have needs, I live on about 40% of my gross and pay my taxes out of that 40%, so let me see where I can fit this in priority wise. Again, great idea, great cause.

Ps. Just to share with you, my brother Michael and I are starting our new offline model on wednesday...and the entire purpose of it is to start out giving 20% of gross to charity, and scaling it out to where we can both make a half mil per year apiece and still give away 90% of the gross eventually, as we progress further into profit. Im sure this would be a good direction for some of that.

Some have different views but personally I believe about myself, that I cannot succeed without giving, because its the purpose for my existence, to create prosperity in places where it is needed. The rest is just the operating expenses God gives us to live on while we create money machines for the purpose of sowing.

You should make it possible to donate via paypal. I'm not giving my credit card info to many places since one of mine had $400 worth of facebook charges put on it. Worthy cause, though.

Thanks for your comment Jason, unfortunately I can't do that. However I'd say that room to read is a large and trustworthy company

If you want to make a donation you could send the money to me through paypal (Let me know in this thread and I'll PM you my email) and I'll make the donation for you. Of course I'll write your name so you could confirm it on the page.

I feel the same way. I went to their contact page (info@roomtoread.org) and sent an email suggesting that they take PayPal. If they get enough feedback about PayPal mabe they will start using it.

You can get anything you want if you help enough other people get what they want.
Losers fail and quit. Winners fail until they succeed.
