Hi guys!

Not been posting much here lately but I wanted to provide you with this useful little report I created last night for my list.

No opt in of course, just three actionable money making techniques and a little bit of motivation from me to give you a bit of a push!

These don't involve "cold calling" but you will, of course, have to actually speak to customers (The horror )

The strategies involve Craigslist\Gumtree, LinkedIn and a surprise that I'll leave you to discover when you go through it.

These are completely fresh and never taught by me before in any of my WSO's...

If you know me, you know I only deal in real, actionable content that I have tested myself in the offline world.

      Hi Nick

      Nice report....well written and great ideas....especially the 3rd one. I used something similar myself and was able to clean up on the follow ups telling them that they hadn't won but got an unexpected bonus.

      For anybody who doesn't like speaking to people sending them a 'sorry you didn't win but here is a discount voucher' also works a treat.

    Hey Nick,

    Nice share, thanks for giving back.

    One caution on the fishbowl idea... make sure you define what the prize will actually entail. Sometimes the "give 'em an inch and they'll take a mile" thing kicks in.

    As long as the offliner defines what that prize is, they should be good to go, you just don't want to get backed into a corner.

    If I may, a couple other tips to compliment your fine report:

    1) Make the prize good, but be ready to suggest other things that would HELP the business that wins (look at their current site or analyze their biz a little) and UPSELL them to add those features/pages/whatever to their prize

    2) The follow-ups you suggest (for the non-winners) are gold. This kind of technique (IMHO) is only worth while if you are actually GOING to follow up with those leads - I've heard of people running the contest, delivering the freebie and never chasing the leads - DOH!

    3) Realize that many of these leads will not be the proper decision maker. Lots of them will be a sales person out entertaining a prospect themselves or just a freebie seeker. Do NOT let that get you down - try to reach the decision maker through that contact and if no joy, move on! There are millions of small business out there. :-)

    Before contacting any of those leads, I would look at their biz card, visit their web site and do some basic searching to see who their competition is and what those web sites look like/features they have.

    For example, if a person's card is from a furniture store, let's call it "Big Furniture".

    Visit the Big Furniture web site.
    • Is it professional?
    • Does it work in multiple browsers?
    • Is it current? (check the copyright date)
    • Anything else you can find to suggest that would improve their site?
    Then search for furniture stores in that city. Hit a couple web sites for those results.
    • Do they look better than Big Furniture's web site?
    • Do they have features that would benefit Big Furniture's site?
    • If you can do SEO, do other sites outrank Big Furniture's site?
    • Do they have a Google+ page?
    The key to these cold leads is understanding their weaknesses, pre-qualifying and having a bit of a thick skin.
