Top 10 offline Marketing Services

Why are you really asking this question? Your signature says you went from $0 to $1,200 per month is just two weeks and your landing page says that whatever it is you are doing will be the last thing one does online.

I highly suspect your post isn't really about the top 10 marketing services offliners provide but instead is just to get clicks to you squeeze page. That's OK but just posting some dumb ass question does not provide any value here and most of us that are frequently posting here just see these posts as clutter to the forums.

There...I said it...

I can only think of 7 right now -

#1 - Ranking on Google - There's nothing I love more than organic traffic straight from G. The hard part is getting there consistently w/out going broke and most importantly staying there for the long haul.

#2 - G Local - This is my second favorite. I should say "was" my second favorite. Ever since hummingbird came out G local has turned into a volatile mess of crap.

#3 - Geotargeted YT Videos ranking on G - Right now I'm liking this better than G local. Cause you can pop up right above G local with a huge, appealing thumbnail and videos are very stable once you rank them. No worrying about overoptimization, no worrying about bs penalties, etc etc. I have sites that were penalized last summer but thank god I had YT videos for those sites and ALL of them stuck. YT is the only thing keeping me sane right now so I pray that G doesn't start slapping videos.

#4 - Aggressive posting on classifieds - Craigslist won't get me a swarm of leads but it does get the job done. And since it only takes 1 minute to renew 3 ads per account, and I have 14 accounts, I can get a decent amount of ads up everyday in very little time. The downside is you can go for weeks without a call, then out of nowhere you'll get 10 in a row. So CL is very weird in that respect.

#5 - Local authority sites - Since I'm from Jersey, one site I love is NJ.com. It gets a nice amount of traffic and takes no time to get an article up.

#6 - Referals from real estate agents - This takes a lot of time to setup but is definitely worth it. There is nothing like a referal from an agent who trusts you. We call up agencies then schedule a 30 minute presentation. Me and my brother go out and educate them about the dangers of mold, faulty foundations, water damage, etc etc.

#7 - Facebook - This shouldn't even be on my list. Because I still haven't cracked this nut but I'm still not giving up. Overall I get horrible results with FB. But I'm not doing PPV/PPC I'm just posting on popular fan pages. So theres a lot left that I need to experiment with.

My 3 Least Favorite -

#1 - Adwords - I can create a converting page, but I still can't create a profitable campaign. And it makes me nauseous just thinking about how much money a marketer can burn through on Adwords. To me, its like playing roulette. Maybe its my niche, maybe its my lack of experience, but at $30 click my funds just evaporate into thin air. Some times I go through $2-$3k and won't schedule 1 job. Other times we'll get 4-5 jobs lined up. But most of the time there is no stability at all. And I'd much rather spend that money on SEO. At the same time I know people have built businesses just on adwords... but it still boggles my mind how the heck its done.

#2 - Direct Mail - I use to sell post card packages so I know direct mail works. It just doesn't work in my industry (restoration). Things need to be timed out perfectly... and its just impossible. We get the most calls during and after rain storms. So to make direct mail successful, we need to get postcards in peoples mailboxes the minute it starts raining. If we hit a couple dates late, conversions drop like crazy. Othertimes we'll send them out right on the mark, then the system turns north or south and we're out a few grand. So I've stopped gambling with direct mail.

#3 - Service Magic / Home Advisor - This is more of a personal thing, I just hate service magic and don't trust them at all. Their leads are pure unadulterated trash. People won't pick up the phone, we'll get nonavailable numbers, other times they pick up and ask "WHO are you? I NEVER submitted a quote to anyone!!!" etc etc. Then we have to argue with the rep for hours on end just trying to get credited for the trash they sent us. Way too much bs, way too shady, I simply don't trust them at all.

I do know 1 company who made it big with service magic. But they were spending $10,000 / month and I don't have money like that to be throwing around. Whats most ironic, I spoke to the owner a couple months ago, he had 2 lawsuits filed against him, he's laid off employees and it seems like he's going out of business now. I think theres more to the story than he told me. But I find it ironic that the 1 friend I know who was successful with them, is now getting his asshole torn open by lawyers and about go out of business.


Anyway, thats where I'm at right now.

I was actually interested in this thread until I got in here. Why do warriors try to blow up other warriors posts for no good reason?

OK, I am new here, but I just read through the tiff that was going on anticipating some end, but by that point, this lists seemed to be marketing relating to online activities (isn't SEO, Social Media ALL considered online activities??)

Being new, I don't even know if I can search the forum without the membership deal.
Any input on the OFFLINE (non-internet) marketing ideas?

Just wanted to add in as well that SMS should be at the top ten.

I went to read this thread just to hear about what everyone was sharing, only to find an annoying fight between two warriors. Anyways, glad that this thread was still worth reading towards the bottom.

And again, SMS is a great way to fo if you have a business client who is already being introduced to mobile marketing.

Everyone else already hit this thread with their top 10's, but I'll just add that it is always knowing what the business needs. See if the business qualifies for that service. If you give a business SMS marketing when they really didn't need it or could monetize their SMS list, it would be worth nothing.

I didn't see the OP's original signature so I won't comment on that.

But... why do people start a thread with a statement when they're really asking a question?

When I click on "Top 10 offline Marketing Services" I am expecting to see a post about the top 10 services that they are offering with some degree of success. It's a huge disappointment to click on that and see a question (and then a whole page of bickering).
