ideas or tools for sales tracking?

Hello,
I have recently started to work as a Sales agent for a guy who runs an app development company. I have a business card from the company which includes email address on the company domain, phone# and url for company's website. The website contains a general contact form which can used by the client to contact the owner. My concern is sales tracking for instance if I distribute my business cards in networking events, lets say some client is interested and they visit the company website and they choose to fill out the contact form on the website rather than emailing me. There is no way for me track this client. Any suggestions or ideas would be appreciated.

Thanks

It seems like I have posted the thread in the wrong section of the forum. Any suggestions on where I can get the answers?

    Thanks

You could implement a mandatory field in the contact form to ask how they
      heard about the website...

So the question is are you working on commission? if yes... well here is what I would do... scan the card, change the contact e-mail and the phone to yours. The web address you cant do anything about. The idea when you are making those connections is to push the idea of calling you anytime. As a salesman you will want to keep the clients off the site, and contacting you for that personal attention.

The real answer is to bring your concerns up with the boss and try and work out a solution. Would seem to me that each sales person should have their own subdomain for tracking purposes.

If he /she /they is not willing to do anything I personally would hand back his cards and tell him to have a nice day!
