Hi,

I have a question about FB ads. Help is much appreciated.

I ran my very first campaign this last week. I am selling offline services, and did my best to target the audience, etc. I have a very small budget. There are two ad sets. The goal of each ad is clicks to website. The website is a squeeze page where I offer a free report in exchange for name and email.

Ad set one has two regular ads and a dark post ad. Ad set two has three ads. Each ad has different pics, headline, and copy.

I have received, on a $5 a day budget for each ad set, a total of 27 clicks to my landing page, where I have a free report. I created it with Leadpages.

The first ad set sent 10 people to my landing page, with one opt in.

The second ad set has so far (it is still running) sent 17 people to my landing page with no opt ins.

After going 1 for 12 in opt ins, I changed the headline on my landing page. Since then, I am 0 for 15.

The only opt in came from the dark post, where I put the link in manually.

Question 1: How can I test the ads I am running to make sure the link works properly, so I know my click throughs are going to my landing page?

Question 2: How do I know when I have tested an ad or ad set enough? How many page views, days running, etc.?

I cannot find the answer to question 1 anywhere -- not the FB help forum, with a Google search, or with a YouTube search.

I have found various answers to question 2, but would like to see if any Warriors who have experience with FB have some good advice.

I know there are many variables, but at this point I am most curious to have theses two questions answered.

Thank you Warriors,

Joe

Check out Jon Wedel. He did a great post here in this section because he was using FB campaigns to generate inbound leads and phone conversations (this is the Offline section so it was on topic). Check out his youtube channel for videos on this topic too.

    Why not use your smartphone?

Edit: I think that isn't quite good enough though. Hey, doesn't the Ad Manager allow you to follow the ad link thru to your landing page? (I can't remember)

      Hi,

Thanks for your help jamesfreddyc, Your answer is really useful and much appreciated.

To clarify question 1 about checking links, I cannot find a way, after having created my ads, to test and make sure the links work properly.

When I go to the ad manager or power editor, I can view the ad, but the links are disabled.

Please, jamesfreddyc or any other warriors, let me know if you know the answer.

      Thanks again,

      Joe
