I was planning to set up a display to lead generate in a local mall. I want to set up a visually appealing display of my home improvement service. I am also going to have a free offer. Originally I was going to have a podium where they can fill out a lead gen form. I've also seen stands that hold ipads, but I'm not sure what type of software to use to capture their info. Any ideas would be great.

As appealing as having an ipad for people to put their info in seems, my gut says it would be less effective than good old paper and pen.

I have no reason whatsoever to believe this, other than the fact that I exhibit at trade shows frequently and watch how people interact with technology.

If the technology itself is not directly related to the thing you are selling, I would probably not bother.

But the most important thing is to have an offer that connects with the right prospects in the crowd.

Get that right, and the medium is pretty irrelevant.

In the malls here in South Florida everyone walks around with their faces buried into their smartphones. Why not just setup a LeadPages info-capture page? They are pretty much setup optimized for any type of OS/platform...

I could see just having both paper-capture like Jack mentioned, but also include the URL for the page. Just in my own experience, people are pretty comfortable accessing the web from their phones and will just go to it if you display it at your kiosk.

Do all your research on this one, dude. Mall kiosk space is the highest per square foot space in a shopping mall. The overhead well break you quick if you don't know what you are doing and have lots of capital from the onset. This is basically something to do if you're a full blown capitalized business and not a novice groping in dark. You need considerable capital, a business plan and, preferably, someone on board with experience in succeeding at this type of business. Otherwise, be ready to loose some money.

Another option is if you plan on interacting with each person,
then you can use a Smartphone app which you talk into your phone
their contact details and it will record them.

Plus you can add additional notes by hand you think
are valuable after the person has left.

Just Google voice apps and you'll see them for Androids
        and iphones.

        Best,
