How is biz, sales & marketing just like Exercise?

Since it's the 1st of the year, and many members are focused on business and resolutions to get in better shape.

In what ways is Exercise Exactly like starting/running a Business and/or

Sales & Marketing???

Direct Participation - you have to work hard to grow. your biz and muscle

No Pain, No Gain - Failure is Good. It builds muscle cells and we learn from biz. mistakes

It's a #'s Game
- Have to do the repetitions and hit the No's, to reach the yes's

Multiple Benefits - exercise works on the Mind, Body, and Spirit and biz. income, pride, and more.

Use it or lose it - stop exercise and you lose muscle and always have to Sell, or lose.

Cheers to a grand 2015 - It will pump us all up

No Affiliation or benefit for me whatsoever

a chance to run our 3-mile course where you’ll climb towers of shipping containers, rocket down a massive water slide, crawl through underground tunnels, leap over fire and experience some BIG new obstacles (trampolines?!)! As if that weren’t awesome enough, before and after you run you’ll get to party with thousands of other maniacs

I agree. In sport, I have slowed down a bit but going to pick it up.
I have been boxing for years, 5-6 times a week + fitness.
        However,
i was losing the passion for it. Boxing had no end goal since I will never get in the ring.
Crossfit is a great new challenge
Have a look into it, i am sure you will like it

Kirby, it's funny created this thread. I have a workout log that I use when I lift. I do a 2 day split, twice a week. I log it on a printout that I have. I've been thinking for while that I'm going to do the same for my business.

Create a log, that I can check off my key activities for the day when I complete them. Now that I've read this...I'm getting that created NOW! And using it starting Monday!

"Biz. Reps" and "work out routine" to build your business physique,

"arm curls" of selling...... the routine of marketing....

and the "heavy lifting" of running your own deal ....

      * Arnold S,., when he was body-building, was engaged in business...while his contemporaries were goofing off!

        5 day full-body split -> 5 full-entreprenuer workdays

2 days of cardio -> 2 organization & fulfillment only days

Good nutrition + Supplements -> Reading books & listening to audio books

        And speaking of Arnold:

    Buy a foamroller.
I have not found a way to make it into a daily routine, but it's great for people sitting all day.

I sit a lot. I probably could stand up while calling. However, I am not the over-excited sales type of guy. I really get excited during a call to be honest lol I also don't need to pump myself up or something, always found that BS.

But thinking about it, I could actually do it for health reasons. You need to change positions every 45 minutes or so (dont remember the exact time).

    • been in great shape and thought for years, 2 workouts everyday and I can then sit
      for 10 hours,

But, the studies show it hurts the fit and unfit alike.

      we all have to move.

      • no time to move your heart???

        new research again shows:

that short bursts of intense exercise can provide some of the same health benefits as long, more endurance-style workouts.

        In business :

short bursts of business priorities and daily tasks make us productive,

not longer durations of less important "busy work" or non-essentials

Darren Hardy of Success Magazine talks about 90 minute bursts. He says he turns off everything, email, phones, and puts a Do Not Disturb on his door.

He then begins to work on his task(s). He says he does more in those 90 minutes than most do in a full day.

I just started crossfit. Though shit. Before this i did boxing, 5-6 times a week. With crossfit, i still need to recover one day in between to get back at it. Look up reebok crossfit on youtube to get an idea.

For some reason, CF really provides an endorphin buzz with certain workouts.
Esp. the ones where you would do

    Weights/kettlebells
    Calithenics
    Run 1 mile
Do it again for X amounts of rounds

I find much more so then other equally hard exercice routines.

What are you guys eating? Me I try to keep it to rice chicken and cucumbers most every day,
I will usually have some whey protein with either apples or bananas as snacks.

Today I decided to go for what works best for me. Which is Paleo.
It's a lifestyle where you don't eat carbs instead of carbs from fruits and vegetables.
It's more about my mind then about my body.
I operate the best when I am low in carbs (other then slow carbs)

Mark's Daily Apple is a site all about it.

It's a bit cult-like, ofcourse. However, for me, after trying everything myself I know where I get the best results. And that's this.

      • Social, If CF is the "runners high".

I believe it's with the lower body, and sustained at 12-20 minutes.

that has been my experience and evolutionary theory can support it.
We run to chase down food, or run to not be food.
But when were "cruising", the body/mind neurochemicals rearrange for that "in the flow" feeling.

        Diet :

seeds, beans, legumes, nuts. (people have said I eat like a bird!)
        banana's
Vega all-in-one protein powder, (expensive, but good tasting)
( my crutch since I am not a fruit and vege guy - but this year it's alot more)
        water, water, water.

I hope you guy's get runners high!
I hope your aware of how foods effect your brainstate.

A former FDA Head has a theory that the combination of salt, sugar, and fat creates an actual physical addiction in the brain.

Eat a McDonald's burger, and see if you crave it again the next day!!!

Thet has done more by 7am, then most people do in a week!!!

      mind
      body
      and soul

snatch, clean, and jerk pretty much is how we handle life's realities, and business

how many "arm curls" does Thet do when he pick up the phone? alot!

it's all a #'s game, fitness just changes the term to "repetitions"

I have to be honest here Kirb.

First of all, We live in different timezones. It was a nice afternoon workout which started at 11.30 PM. I had a nice sunday sleepout until 10pm.

        Second,
I have a headset. The only arm curls I do is when I am lifting up my coffeecup. Which is, true enough, too much lately

Tomorrow we will rock it again, crossfit.
