Does this exist? Should it exist?

Some of you sales pros may be aware of this study: THE LEAD RESPONSE MANAGEMENT STUDY

In a nut shell, the value of your inbound leads plummet after 5 minutes if you don't get them on the phone. FYI: NEVER EVER BUY A LEAD MORE THAN 30 MINUTES OLD! Don't take it from me, take it from the data!

We've got this new widget we are selling to restaurants and to accelerate the sales process I first began searching for a solution that accomplishes what you see below.

Here's the user / workflow we are after.

OUTBOUND (COLD CALLS)
  1. We call business owner and they agree to recevie more information.
  2. We collect some basic info; name, e-mail, phone number. We enter this information on "some screen" and also either include an attachment, or link to our content.
  3. When the business owner opens the e-mail, a 5 minute delay should occur. On the 299th second, our phoen should ring and say; "John Doe has opened your e-mail, Press 1 to connect with John."
  4. We press 1 and John Doe phone rings. We say; "we see you just got to take a peak at our email!" He's blown way, etc. etc.

INBOUND (WEB TRAFFIC)
  1. Busines owner lands at site, and completes a form to take advantage of an offer.
  2. Business owner automatically receives the info he was after.
  3. When business owner opens the e-mail, our phone rings; "John Doe signed up to receive information on your site on Friday, and has just read your e-mail. Press 1 to speak with John."

Now, I am very aware of companies / widgets that connect you with your form leads after they complete a form because I used to resell it.

However, I have yet to find a service that connects you with a prospect based on their consumption of your e-mail, or content.

I know that there are services (mostly unreliable) that will notify you when a message has been opened, but you only see those notifications when you are logged into your e-mail via desktop web. So, if you're running around on your mobile, you have no idea who opened what, and at what time until you get back to PC...

With all that said, before we build this thing... TWO QUESTIONS
  1. DOES IT EXIST?
  2. Do you want it to exist? (for you)...

Thanks for your feedback!

Not only is this accurate I wrote a report about it last year and I personally experienced it in my own business as a roofer buying leads from Service Magic back in 2006.

Not to toot my own horn but its why I developed the plugin in my siggy.

It also helps me know who is honest - I can see when someone reads an email. So, when I see they have opened it 7 times in the last 4 days, yet when i talk to them they say "Oh somehow I missed it, I'm sorry I didn't get back to you" I know they aren't being honest. If it is a service provider - they get a mental black mark.

I don't know if there is a combined function - but you could just use the API's. Yesware, Streak, and Toutapp all have the functionality. Integrate them via api to Twillio or another service maybe?
Hey Dan, do you get the gmail yesware notifications when using the gmail app on mobile as well? Yesware was really good to me for a time... Then the notifications / tracking system got weird on me. :-/

No I don't think they have an Android app, which is really annoying. When companies ignore Android, I usually don't do business with them. There are faaaar more Android devices than iOS - it just seems like a bad business decision.

Their tracking did get messed up when Google started caching the images so all images are displayed automatically. Yesware has worked around this though.

          good job Dan.

I do that and add a "verbal contract"
they tell me on the phone "they will read it, and during a time period"

          good work BigBee

I've never used Yesware, but love signals, now known as sidekick put out by Hubspot.

I like your idea though, I bet something like that would be a pretty popular service.

sounds like a great service man! I used to use yesware but have gone over to streak and love it. all tracking is free, seems more accurate, and has more options.

Hey all... Thanks for the feedback! Happy New Year!

We have a super crude version if you guys want to play around with it for free. We made it so that it works well with Yesware and any e-mail client - including mobile.

You create a lead in 4 fields. Get a link. When link is clicked. You get a text. Tap to call.

Will be releasing this EXCLUSIVELY on WF for first 90 days which excites the bejeezus out of me. If interested in the alpha, inbox me.
