Best place to purchase lists

I've been researching Infofree & Infousa for B2B leads for cold calling. I thought I would post here to get some feedback.

This is what I want to do. I want to search for a niche within x miles of city (or zip code). Also, I could load a list of zip codes. The 1st is the preferred method.

Then, I want the search to yeild: Owners First & Last name, Business name, Business Address, phone number.

I have no attachment to Infofree or Infousa. Those are the 2 that kept coming up in my research. Hoovers seems too expensive.

Based upon what I'm looking for, what service do you guys recommend?

Pull that library card out of your wallet, and go to their online website. You'll see somewhere a link to their online databases, and typically there will be quite a few.

The one you're looking for is ReferenceUSA. The amount of data they have for each lead is phenomenal. The only piece of data it doesn't have is the email address, but hey, the price is right. You'll get owner name, business name, address, phone number, and much more.

The only downside is that you can only download 250 contacts per session (not 'per day'). So if you call more than that in a day, simply log back in and download the next 250.

Somehow I had the impression that ReferenceUSA is a product of InfoUSA, and if so, it'd be the same data.

Actually, from having had conversations with both, I believe you have that backwards. InfoUSA gets it's lists from ReferenceUSA.

Not quite. Both are owned by InfoGroup which is one of the largest compilers in the country. They also own SalesGenie.

If the list business lacks anything it's transparency. It's a lot like many other industries in a lot of respects. The reality is that most of the folks in the business are relying on what they were told who are relying on what they were told and it results in a lot of misinformation.

  • InfoFree.com has really raised their prices. There is another unlimited product out there for $50/month if you're looking for b2b data in the U.S.

Reference USA is another great option. You may also want to check out Manta.com which is a little less specific, but it's also free.

When I clicked on the link in your sig line, I got that infuriating IE error:

      The page cannot be displayed

message. I also clicked on that link in the other poster's post and got the same error message.

If it is just me, oh well. But I wonder how many other people got that same disgusting Microsoft crap.

        Try it again!

I was just there and got another list. No problems using IE. Maybe it was one of those few second outages that we all experience.

My apologies for the delayed response. I'm fairly active on another forum, but this one slips by.

The short answer is that some users will get a message saying the site isn't available, but if you access it from just about any other internet location or a proxy it's golden. You can get a free VPN service by using a google extension with https://dotvpn.com/en/.

Always feel free to email me with questions, josh@affordablemarketinglists.com. I'm generally very responsive to emails/calls, but don't always catch it when folks are talking about my product on forums

Another place I've heard that you can purchase lead information would be Nextmark. Ever heard of them?

    Here is their website: http://www.Nextmark.com

    Hope that helps

  • I've used www.acculeads.com for over a decade. You can do everything you want and more. You get to choose from a number of different databases (compiled by companies like Dun and Bradstreet) to pull your counts.

I recommend referencing a glossary of direct marketing terms if you don't have a bunch of experience in the industry. Try this one here

You should get whoever you use to set you up as a list broker. It will cut the prices by as much as 50%.

Go with Josh's www.ListShack.com (he's AffordableMarketingLists) above. Can't beat $50/month for unlimited searches and downloads (though, you can only download 10,000 leads at a time, but you can do it as often as you'd like).

Josh answered my questions when I inquired, and I've already got a few lists from ListShack. So far, info is pretty up to date and I'm noticing you get about 85-90% of the owner's/manager's names. I also match info from ads in the local paper to ListShack to find owner's names and it's working out well for me.

(And, no, I'm not an affiliate... but maybe I should be??)

I'm looking at listshack.com but it doesn't tell me much. What kind of leads to they supply? Can I get accredited investor leads or even opportunity seekers?

Do it yourself, with a days work, you can easily get 200 good names. With an hour work, you can have 40, depending on how much you need this is easy accomplished. Or hire somebody for chear to do just that.

    Buying lists is shit.

No there aren't any specialty lists. You can email the owner josh@affordablemarketinglists.com to get all specifics, he's very responsive.

Or you can spend $50 and get thousands anytime you want. I don't get why you would say that about lists.

I could easily get my scissors, set my mirrors up at good angles in my room and cut my own hair..... However I choose to go to the barber......

Sometimes paying for goods/services just makes more sense.

Yeah, I agree but for anything highly targeted like "Diabetics in specific zip code" or "People who have just had a cruising holiday" for example...anything very targeted...paying can be a quick way to go

Yes I should have said it a bit less black and white, I probably insulted some hard working people here. But my experiences with it are far from good. I also know, that if I take a morning, I will have a strong list to call for a week (especially considering I do this every week, and we all know how few people we reach in a week, which means you will have a plenty of list once you hit the 1k+ and you keep on adding names every week)

So far, every time I did this, I would get a list full of IT managers, because they had IT in their keyword, but where a lot of the time no way related to my actual niche
