Found an article that might interest you: Leo Burnett says buh-bye to the Big Apple - Chicago Business Journal

Because it gives a glimpse into advertising for big business.

The jello thing is one of the last lines in the article. I found it strange as I don't know anyone who'd say jello's played a role in their family life. At best, they eat some now and again.

[Jello]Its all about demographic ask the right "set" of people about "Ambrosia' and you would get a totally different idea. as to everyone else that is sometime how mis-aligned advertisers are with their users - hence the lack of sales. Jello has been adverting at a "Baby Boomer" market, and never made the shift to "millennials"

Memories of happy times I suppose. I still remember 4th of July, Easter family get togethers where my Grandma would make some sort of Jello Casserole that had different flavors layered in a dish with whipped cream and strawberries. Was pretty awesome, and when I see a box of Jello it reminds me of that.

Interesting article though, and I do find it weird that they wanted to branch out to NYC when their messaging efforts probably would have been better by staying in Chicago and investing the resources in expanding accounts where they were.

Jello casserole, huh? When I meet my grandma's in heaven, I'll take them to task from failing to provide me proper deserts. I'm sure that's one of the reasons I'm not richer than Trump by now.

I remember overdosing on Jello casserole and vomiting all over the place!

Not as much to do with marketing... but health, mad cow disease ko'd many gelatin based products and Jello was the king of the hill.
