Subscription Service (Paypal alternative)?

Hi all,

I'm selling leads, and I'm looking for a Paypal alternative for monthly billing, so I don't have my account locked and my money held for months on end.

Ideally, I'm thinking of going down the pay per individual lead route, and bill each month based on how many leads were created.

So if 3 leads were generated, then I'd charge for 3 leads. So there would be a different amount billed each month.

Rather than invoice each month, and chase invoices, do you know if there is a way to just charge/bill, and auto deduct the amount owed each month?

Or is there a better way?

Thanks peeps.

    Scott,

I keep hearing people have problems with PayPal, but I've never had any money locked up with them. I'm not saying it's not happening, it's never happened to me. Out of curiosity, what got your account locked or money held out of curiosity? Was it a customer dispute? Too much money processed?

    Thanks

Not so much me, but others I know have had their account locked with money in them. I had it happen to me, but a small amount. I guess I'm just looking to stay on the safe side.

      Or maybe I'm just paranoid...

I used Square to bill my customers. But you do have to keep their cc# to re-enter it and the amount at the end of the month. Approval is super easy and they deposit the amount into your bank in 1-2 days.

Stripe seems to also be a popular option.

Yeah, it's always good to have a backup plan. Let us know what you come up with. I'd be interested to see an option for this. I am using PayPal for this same exact scenario, but would love to hear what you come up with.

Stripe looks pretty promising. I'll have to dig around on this, but it looks like it may be better than PayPal.

Nice, will check both of these out. Thanks.

A friend of mine just recommended these, but I've yet to even look at them:

          Braintree
          Payleven
          Paymill
          Gocardless

          Cheers.

GoCardless is ideal if you live in the UK, I switched from PP to it for all my recurring billing last year and customer retention shot up.

I have used Payza (formerly AlertPay) in the past, and have never had an issue. They offer both personal and business accounts. You can learn more here: https://www.payza.com/features

Stripe is a very solid option, not nearly as hold happy as PayPal. They honor entity separation as well which is a big plus.

I actually would recommend Stripe over paypal any and every day of the week.

Nothing like processing check by phone but it's a good alternative.
