MAGNET DIRECTORY -- KILLIN' IT!

Hey guys,

Is anybody still doing fridge magnet directories? I am putting together a magnet for my city right now with a lucrative email method -- I sent out only 200 emails today and I already have 16 interested clients! Crazy conversions for email.

Once I dominate my city (10,000+ B2B emails), I'm going to drive up to several other big cities and replicate the method. Should be fun to roll into a big city for a few days and come home with a folder FULL of cheques!

Here are some of the responses I got within ONE HOUR of sending out some emails:

I'm curious Jon, does this have anything to do with your restaurant/night club venture?

        Not at all!

I'll admit I had some delusions of grandeur with that, haha. Still working on something. I've partnered up with some bars/venues in southwestern Ontario and will be flying in some popular LA comedians in the coming months. Hashing out dates with some agents now. Should be pretty profitable!

They may be interested but has anybody handed over hard cash yet?

I know these magnets work well in the UK because I used to do them a few years ago. Good luck, I hope they work for you too.

Slow down fella, don't get ahead of yourself.

All of those responses are very generic. I will admit those are pretty good response rates for emailing. But let's see how well you can sell now. I really hope you're calling them back immediately and not responding via email.

If you can call them within 5 minutes of their email response you have roughly an 80% higher chance of closing a sale. Interest goes cold quick so make sure you're calling these people asap. If they don't leave a phone number in the email, find it. You need to be calling these people back, not emailing.

Keep it updated, good or bad. I'm interested in the results.

I can vouch for this strategy of fast response improving conversions.

In a different niche we try to send a customised paypal link and order form by return email ASAP and we also follow up on the phone at the same time.

We always start with identifying where we are from and that we are calling them about their recent request and we wanted to clarify that they actually require the service now or later and if they require it now they can use our unique link that we sent them or we can process things over the phone and confirm the details by return email.

Using this approach we get on average about 10% conversion.

For non converters we send a reminder two days later that contains a simple survey that asks them "Rate our response time"

We usually get a good rating but here's the thing...the thank you page for the survey has another time sensitive offer where we convert a few more clients.

Closed 3 cash spots today. Looking to meet with 6-8 people on Monday.

I agree about responding quickly -- makes all the difference in the world if everything's fresh in their mind. Thanks for the tip!

I'm collabing with a roofing & plumbing company too -- all leads will be funnelled through one of my phone numbers. I then sell the leads! Easy extra income. Gotta love outsourcing

      1. $197
      2. unknown - between 12 and 30.
      3. paid delivery to high-income neighbourhoods.

      Hope that helps!

I posted about this method 2 years back (on another forum) and happy to see it is working for you...not saying I originated the idea (maybe, maybe not), but a lot of potential. Just curious on how you plan on monetizing as you suggested PPL, but there are many.

I'm starting to think that I'll make more overall if I drop my price down to $149. Claim it as an EARLYBIRD SPECIAL and the closing rate should improve. What do you guys think?

      Things are going well!

I am! Sales are through the roof.. but there are a lot of leads slipping by too. If I drop the pricing I could capture more of those. Not sure!

Well, if "sales are through the roof", sign them up, baby!

You should be able to fill up your 12 - 30 spaces EASY with that kind of response.

Then, grab your "folder FULL of cheques" and head for the bank.
Time to cash in on all those "Crazy conversions".

If you have all of those people you say are climbing all over this, then why would you be dropping price, scarcity / high numbers of people wanting in and low number of spots should mean you can sell them at the higher price easily.

The price barrier is only in your head not the clients, they have no idea if its 199 or 149 ? / dropping price can be an indicator the sales person is inexperienced and most people like that seem to think that dropping the price is a way to get a sale over and above building value or more demand for the remaining positions, and if your killing it then all of your early bird spots should be taken anyway.

I guess you can "color me confused"...how do you decide to sell and price something without figuring out where and how you can get it designed and made and what the cost of that would be?

if you can't do the graphics etc yourself....why didn't you look into that before you offered this?

How much will it cost to make the magnet? How many magnets do you plan to offer in one "run"?
You say they will be distributed...how? by whom? at what cost?

I have all of that figured out. I have a supplier set up along with complete costs and quantities. Delivery already set as well.

All I need done is the graphics outsourced. Not a big deal at all. I could do it myself but I'm not a professional at it by any means, lol.

Can you give us the overall numbers?

    How many magnets are promised?
If you fill all the vendor spots, what's the gross.
What are the expenses to fulfill the project?
    What is the overall profit?

    Thanks!
