How Much To Charge For A Business Listing

Ok before I start - most of you know about my website if you have been reading the offline forums lately.

I need good quality feedback here... So if you are going to say "this wont work" or "your listings are scattered" please refrain from posting.

I am going to start calling next week so I need to figure out the pricing today.

I have two websites.. www.floridatripguides.com and carolinatripguides.com. Florida is the one thats a lot more developed.

I have two types of listings to choose from.

Enhanced and Featured. To see what each listing includes it will be easier if you just go check out Add Your Business To Florida Trip Guides | Florida Trip Guidesand look at the price table.

After hearing some GREAT feedback on this forum I am thinking about adding a monthly cost as well as the whole year price.

For the Enhanced Listings here is my pricing.
I am thinking either $9.99/mo or $99 for the whole year or $19.99/mo or $199 for the whole year.

For the Featured Listings here is my pricing.
I am thinking either $19.99/mo or $199 for the whole year or $29.99/mo or $299 for the whole year.

Whats your thoughts on this?

Also - I created an option for my clients for an additional $30 I will build their listing for them. So they don't have to do any of the work themselves. All they have to do is fill out the checklist that I will send them.

Do you think that is necessary to have this option? The only reason why I added it was in when I talk to someone on the phone who doesn't know how to add their listing or isn't good with computers.

Would love to hear your thoughts.

Thanks!

I think you have already gotten a lot of ideas and good advice for free on this and a lot of other topics. Just go with what advice has already been given.

I think you need to do more research. Put yourself in the mind of your prospects. They have more than likely been approached by similar sites, and will have a rough idea in their mind of what the market rate is.

What did those sites charge? What do they offer? What tiers do they offer?

Use the competition to determine the current market pricing for your offering and then decide how to position your value/price against that, either higher, lower or with different options not available from the competitors.

Marketing is not a battle of products. It is a battle of perceptions.
