Here is why I like Offline...and why I trust no one internet

Yes...

I have seen my share of flaky biz owners offline...but nothing compared to the online cesspool.

Just now I found one of those strange fly-by posts , bad grammar, no meaning, and out of curiosity looked up the photo in Google reverse image - found it was lifted from a young lady's site who IS an expert in English grammar. Ho Ha Ha

You really can't trust people online - and I say that as a person who was online when it was bbs, and who had a 9k modem, on Prodigy, Compuserve, and the Original America Online.
In fact, after I racked up a $270 phone bill one month I became a forum mod in the "freebies forum" haha.

I was a beta tester for paypal...do you know they gave us $5 for every sign up, up to 2500...then I used my (late) dear Dad and boyfriend and got them each $2500 too

I was on Commission Junction when it had a little choo choo train and limited offers

But now? Sorry...the online stuff has just gotten so dirty and unreal. This idea of getting over on people is so common now. Most of these gurus are only making money selling rehash junk to people with starry eyes and dreams. I am so sick of the fakes and phoneys.

It is really depressing to watch them troll around....as soon as some new person asks a question the "sellers" jump on it, each pushing their own deal

I have to laugh at some of them with their outlandish claims. I have to laugh at the "reviewers"....some old hick in bumpuddle Middle USA sitting in a cluttered kitchen spouting off their "learned opinion".

If they really made the money they claim, the feds would be after them just as they went after McCorkle, etc. They are small potatoes - but rotten taters all the same IMHO.

Well here we have a real winner - a profile picture stolen from a real website and a fake stupid "bio" written with a ridiculous translation program.

    FreebieQueen,

One piece of advice I will give you, if you are serious about making an internet business successful.

IGNORE the BS, it will always be there, always was, and always will be.

The BS merchants will always be there, and always have been. This forum is now almost the epicenter of BS - check out any WSO and the absolute nonsense that goes in there, the amount of false reviews, and naive people that buy such trash to quickly realise this.

Focus on where you want to go, life is too short for anything less.

Or fulfill a need where it seems you see a problem and have a huge passion to fix it.

Be the other guy saving the people from the gurus. There's just as much money in it, look at Pat Flynn, Yaro Starak, the originals are still banking.

The gurus will be around as long as starry eyed dreamers are.

Thanks but you do have to check people out before you "trust" them.

This example of a stolen profile picture is just all too common.

Another thing that is ridiculous - any site using the "fiverr" video referrals. What a joke!

The old guy sitting in his "library" gives rave reviews - fake as can be haha

Online it's much easier to be a scumbag. And my view is 10% of people are utter scumbags. Which means a lot!

I've never been outright ripped off by anyone offline. However, I've had web designers take my deposits and never deliver. I've had SEO people take my money and deliver zero value. Many of these WSOs are the same thing. Take a persons money and deliver zero value. Online is really one of the only places left that you can get away with doing business this way. Well, online and Wall St.

Now, I do my best to deal with people that are close enough that I can easily visit the courthouse and very Inexpensively sue their asses.

I've got beaten several times over about 10 years on the internet and fortunately they were all for $50 and under.

The one I remember most was an Ebay purchase for $7.95 and it was for an adjustable clamp for holding things while welding.

The seller had thousands and thousands of great feedback.. I never received the clamp and the seller just dropped off the face of the earth. Now I know it wasn't because of my purchase that he would just disappear. The products he sold were low dollar tools.

The lesson received was that nothing is a sure thing no matter how many or how little amount of reviews are found before purchasing online. I try and buy local as much as I can but that is impossible if you want to do business online.

It's like order a double whopper with cheese because you see the bill board while driving and its looks real awesome there and then you find out it's crap

It happened to me yesterday on freeway but hey at least i receive something and eat it.
