One of the best ways to make money I have found is to combine the tools and knowledge online, with traditional offline marketing tactics. Of course I have a Local SEO Agency and typically offer my services through this avenue, but recently I started making money without doing much work at all.

What I did was find a good tool to check a companies onsite and offsite search engine optimization. Through Social Media or Offline face to face contact I offer these reports which I charge money for. Right now I am using SEO Expositor which has worked out great.

So now I can either do all of the preliminary work to help close leads, or I can use this as an up sell strategy when offering my consulting services to local businesses. I am impressed with how you can triple your monthly income from a tool alone.

Moral of the story is, you can make money by offering tools and services in the offline marketing world. Instead of paying for IM tools out of pocket, make money with them, and use them for your own personal use. It's automated because I select tools that do all of the work for me. Heck I even set up Virtual Assistance to do the grunt work. The only thing I have to do is sell it.
