Does anyone have a subscription for "Who's Mailing What"?

Folks,

Just wondering if anyone on the board has a sub to WMW?

If 'yes', is it worth it? And is it a valuable source of swipe material for your business, either in the DM or copywriting fields?

Thanks in advance

If you're talking the Denny Hatch version, it is well worth the money...but,

as for swipe, maybe, probably not. It helps you see what methods are being used and you can possibly tweak them, depending on your product and solicitation methods.

Like most swipe files, you can get some good ideas, but the list may play a more important role than the copy.

Get all the Denny Hatch stuff you can afford.

      Thanks Gjabiz,

Yes, it's the Denny Hatch version. Updated monthly, with online access through subscription. Since it covers all types of mailings it would include stuff that's superfluous to me - credit card offers, department stores, retail, financial, etc.

I'm currently looking for recent controls and swipes in the health supplement market.

And yes I certainly do agree that list is by far the most important factor, easily outstripping offer and copy.

      Thanks for your feedback

It feels we've been here before. But, controls online might best be found by looking at best sellers at Amazon...or googling supplement best-sellers.

Off line is harder to come by, because if it is the CONTROL, the owners are pretty tight lipped about their results and advertising.

PS Over 25 years in the vitamin and supplements market, it was rare to see a control stay that way, new promotions are constantly being created if the list has been used to the point of diminishing returns below a certain level.
And of course a house list is better than a cold one, and even then, test, test test.
