Opinions on best data append/Cleansing companies

I wanted to get any opinions out there on what others have found to be the best data append / cleansing companies out there. We are basically looking to append updated phone numbers to existing contacts and scrub our contact info to validate if numbers and contact information is still accurate for our call lists. looking for cost effective source as we have millions of records to scrub.

I have tried a few companies so far like axiom and ebureau but have ran into many issues such as number appended being out dated or only ability to validate home numbers.

    Im going to sound like a broken record here... if you got that many numbers to start with how many are you adding on a daily weekly yearly time frame. You should again consider a coder for this stuff. Phone Validation API's are all over the place for exactly what you are looking to do.. you just need a coder to bring the whole thing together.

    The more you ask these questions the more I am going to say you need to simply write down from start to finish what you need in your CRM and get one built just for you. Multiple list integration ( check ) List validation once a month ( check )

    You are running around piece mealing all of this stuff, think short term investment with a long term return.

    Locate a developer on contract for more granular control over project scope and fulfillment. Maybe try a forum where developers visit daily like StackOvervlow, which has a careers section to post job opportunities.

    Millions of rows is not a lot in the world of databases.

    What exactly do you want to validate the phone number against? It sounds like 2 things:

    1. Whether or not it's a cell or home phone.
    2. Out dated.

    You would have to be more specific about #2, that just isn't enough information. For #1 there are API's like savage suggested. In fact, here's a thread from the forum I suggested above: sms - Web based API that can tell me if a number is a landline or cell phone? - Stack Overflow but there are lots of options.

    Just make sure your project scope, needs, requirements, etc.. are all clearly written down and well planned. It's not clear if this is for a one-time operation or you want a piece of software to perform this process on a continual basis. Someone would be able to integrate your database with the API relatively quickly, but allow some time for more formal solution development.
