Let's Grab a 10 Thousand Dollar Drink Together...

Thought you may be up for a drink with me. You see...

There's this place in Vegas that actually offers people a $10000 drink. What's in it and what experience comes with it you may be wondering?

Check This Out...

Ingredients: 1/2 oz Louis XIII black pearl cognac, 1/2 oz fresh squeezed orange juice, 1/4 oz apricot puree, 1/4 sence rose nectar, 2 ice cubes and 4 oz Charels Heidseck's 1981 Champagne.

The orange juice and apricot puree are mixed and poured into the custom champagne glass.

The champagne glass and Black Pearl cognac (served in its own custom-designed glass) are presented on a crystal tray along with a bottle of Charles Heidsieck's "1981 Champagne Charlie".

Although the alcohol is expensive, it's not worth ten thousand dollars. So how could they get away with that?

They created an experience with ordering the drink versus just buying an expensive drink. The bonuses to this drink…

The "XS" pearl necklace and "XS" cufflinks are also presented on the tray in their respective boxes.

While the guests are blown away over their gifts brought along with it, the server opens the champagne and finishes building the drink by pouring the Black Pearl cognac and 4 oz. of champagne into the glass with the juice mixture.

Guess how many they sell a year? We'll I did some digging and found out they sell around 2 a month. That's an extra $240,000 in the clubs pocket every year.

Vegas and this place definitely creates a whole other experience.

Now you may not be in Vegas or own a club, but there are some profitable lessons you can take from this though.

Think of something you're not offering now that could not only be more profitable for you and compliment your services or products, but also unique and gives the wow experience to your clients or customers.

Imagine just adding one higher priced service or product and so valuable you sold one or two of those a month. How much happier would you and your bank account be?

They are an expensive club in Vegas anyways and there are other expensive clubs, but how could they think they can get away with that and offer the most expensive drink ever?

Because they gave themselves permission. Let me ask you…

What's your next 10 thousand dollar drink for your customers going to be?

You answer that and then maybe see you later for a drink.

$10,000 for a mixed drink that is only includes a 1/2 oz of cognac? imagine those profit margins off 1 750ml bottle that costs $20,000! What's funny is half of the people ordering it probably don't even know what it actually tastes like so what's stopping the club from faking or diluting the cognac?
I wonder if I could partner with a popular local club and sell them shots of rare liquors with jewelery gifts like this club is doing.

It's really not to do anything with the drink like said, it's really about the "experience" that 10k drink gives them. If it was me at the club and they offered me that, i'd personally take that 10k, buy a couple nice drinks and use the other 9k and have a better experience, especially in vegas-lol

There is value to having a distinctive hook that people remember. A $10,000 drink is an immediate publicity angle:

    What's in a $10,000 Cocktail? - ABC News

People are more apt to remember the $10K drink than the name of the bar. Or, if the bar comes up in conversation, someone might say, "I don't know them." And the reply is "Oh, those are the guys with the $10k drink!" "OH! I heard about that. Cool, let's go." It creates a story.

Otherwise, what is the bar really KNOWN for, I mean REALLY know for? Ladies Night?

It's like when people talk about John Carlton, the copywriter. Almost always they introduce him as the author of the "One-legged golfer" letter, or "The most ripped off copywriter alive." It's easier to remember One-Legged Golfer than his actual name.

Or check out this town in Greece. Their hook is the unique blue roofs on the buildings:
    http://www.bing.com/images/search?q=...fs&FORM=HDRSC2

The town is called Santoriny, but it's much easier to remember "the town with the blue roofs."

Think about how someone would introduce you to a live audience, or even a podcast. What would the intro say? "Here's Joe Blow who has a marketing company, and they have clients." Boring, right?

In that sense, OP's example is on the money. It pays to have memorable hooks that people can remember you by. It's more than a USP. It is something distinctive that sticks in their cranium.

True...definitely publicity on their side, but like said if look at it from the "10k drink buyer" it has nothng do with the drink. He wants the attention from everyone, he wants the girls lighting the candles and walking around to him, he wants etc...

Think if they sold a 10 thousand dollar drink, they would get publicity, but what if they just brought it out in a bottle, gave it to you and walked away. No girls, no candles, no attention, no excitement experience. You'd feel kinda gipped and like maybe you should of just saved some money and bought a beer.

He is investing in the experience.

Especially at that price point, people usually are either investing in an experience or an important result.

This is beyond tacky. It's about as tasteful as a Dog the bounty hunter buying a title from the House of Bourbon (or Windsor).

Vegas Vince mentioned this exact method in one of his BTR Blogs.

You can listen to it here (Note: The twist is revealed near the end of the Audio, but unfortunately, Vinnie did not come back with a follow up show like he mentions in this Audio. Therefore, I am thankful, that you (fasteasysuccess) laid out the steps noted above more preciously. However, Vegas Vince's show talks about another way to tweak your idea.

Hope you all see the added value and twist mentioned here:

The same goes for name-brand clothing. Usually they are a tad bit nicer than others, but is it really worth a few extra dollars just for a shirt? Not at all... it's for the status of wearing it

There's way more expensive drinks out there too like at $1.5 million, there’s La Ley del Diamante Tequila. For $1.6 million there is Diva Premium, an English vodka.
