Many people are critical of someone's interest in making money from religious gatherings, but businesses must prepare for the the influx of people. I live in a tourist town, and anybody who finds a way to make people's visits more comfortable, less stressful, safer, pleasant, finds their willingness to help rewarded.

For a religious gathering, I'd recommend leaving the merchandising of products specific to the religion to those already established in that area. I'd avoid any event-specific merchandise as odds are that is already being prepared (but those businesses will likely need help).

Probably the best approach is to treat the visit as any large one-time crowd. What items will they need? Sun hats / sunblock lotion / Portable misters / battery fans if it's hot or sunny. Plastic ponchos if rain is predicted. Cold bottles of water. Cell phone charging stations / portable USB chargers.

By selling non-event specific products, you won't have difficulty unloading any unsold inventory. I'm sure there's more items they'll need - Just ask questions about how to help, given the event. The crowd may have large numbers of elderly that may find it difficult to stand for hours, how can you help?

Anyone attending this type of event that does not come fully prepared with everything mentioned, really isn't smart enough to leave their house without a guardian.

      Cheers. - Frank.

P.S. You forgot the box of Depends.

Frank, I'm sure you did not intend to sound cruel, but the lack of empathy in your reply is not very nice. This gathering will not be a music festival crowd and yes, there may be quite a few elderly interspersed amongst the crowd with bladder difficulties.

For this event, people will be traveling from all over the U.S. and may not have everything they need. I live in central Florida and people arrive here from up north unprepared for the heat this time of year.

Why so condescending? If you are unwilling to help, please don't make fun of those who are trying to help.

Please - - - - leave the preaching to the Pope. Thanks!

      Cheers. - Frank

Can you find small buses or large passenger vans to use?

Team up with some local businesses to allow people to park in their lots and provide transportation to and from the location. You can charge for the parking and the transportation.

Revenue share the earnings for parking with the businesses. (Assuming this is happening on a non-business day.)

Oh..and don't forget to keep extra boxes of Depends in the vans... (Franks idea, not mine..)
