How to Get All Residential Addresses in an Area/City

Anyone know of a way to obtain a list of all residential properties that exist in a specific city or zip code?

I was thinking about submitting a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request with the local municipality, but thought I'd ask in case there was some other (hopefully free or inexpensive) method that someone else might know about.

Presumably, you're in the States. In the States, the Post Office, has something called EDDM, where they deliver at low cost to every address on a route. You can choose to have businesses and residential or just residential properties.

I am not sure this will work. If you were a process server or officer chances would be in your favor. With EDDM, it is a blind mail option but it will hit every residence or business in that area, but you will not have access to names or addresses.

Let's assume I know the YellowPages is a directory providing phone numbers, names and addresses of people. How would you use it to figure out all the people in a particular zip code?

Maybe yellowpages has changed in recent years, but last time I looked it was strictly for business listings, not residential...

    I third EDDM.

When I was actively selling real estate, before I heard of EDDM I had easy access to public records and could get a spreadsheet of all addresses and names of everyone on a specific street or whole cities. Made it easy to mail merge.

So.... if you don't want to go EDDM then become good friends with a real estate agent. Ha

Oh, and another easy way, for a little money, you cam check out ListShack.com or InfoFree.com and get compiled lists.
