Help! Need to learn how to close a sale - fast

Hi all,

I need to learn how to close a sale fast over the phone. My background is tech oriented so I don't have a previous history in sales. Need to have money before the 15th of this month. Am open to an arrangement for pay (since I am kinda shy on the funds now).

PS - the only reason why I am asking is because I don't have customers now. I am not sure if it is because the message (to the potential customer) is off or if I just have not found the "diamond in the rough" yet.

    You'd get a lot more answers from people who actually "sell over the phone for a living" by going to the offline marketing section and asking the question.

    Just sound like a grown man on the phone - no matter what your age is. Write out a script, rehearse it, and act like you've done this a million times. Don't stress out about it. And if you don't get the prospect to commit, don't worry. Just go out and find 10 more qualified prospects.

    But you should know... you don't have to do cold-calling or over the phone selling to people to commit to purchasing. Research "Bob Serling" and "never cold call again" to see what i'm talking about.

  • Identify the problem and offer the solution. It is pretty simple. Don't get too technical or geeky with your talk, but offer sound advice based on your technical knowledge. I sold over the phone for 9 years regularly. Matter of fact, I still sell over the phone from time to time

    In order for you to close the sale on the phone, make sure that you're an active listener. It's normal for you to receive objections from a client. Put in your mind that a client who objects is interested in your offer. When the client has concerns about a specific feature you have in your product or service, just do a "one step backward, two step forward" method to make the client realize something. You've got to be confident that your service can help the needs of your client. Hope this one helps.

    I agree with being an active listener. But the thing that I concentrate on is making sure what you are selling will solve the problem(s) of the person who is interested in buying it.

    talk about the benefits of what they will get from it, not as much about the features of it.

    A buyer just want it to add value to their life and solve the problem they are having.
