Advice about a Direct Mail Campaign to Capitalize on potential union clients

I have the opportunity to do some potential contracting work for an organization that wants to capitalize on a union connection.

They are a printshop. They specialize in larger print jobs. They can do anything from vehicle wraps to business cards. They join have a union to capitalize on potential business from other unionized organizations.

In particular, they want to do a direct mail campaign to capitalize on union business.
I have never done a direct mail campaign. I've done some googling, but any advice anyone can offer would be truly appreciated.

I am also trying to think of other ways they can drum up business from local unionized organizations.

Any advice on either of these situations would be appreciated.

    What does this mean?

WHAT will you be the contractor for? Certainly not for direct mail or for marketing.
